I highly doubt it, but that would be one hell of a nice surprise.ellis-bas wrote:With all the new character designs for the Universe 6 arc and the announcement of when the arc will begin to air, I've been considering the possibility that the arc has already been completed, or at least started to be animated.
I appreciate there are likely some key production details I'm missing but I'd started to entertain the idea that the Battle of Gods and Revival of F retellings were being used as "filler" - that is, to launch the series in July but have a background/secondary team animating the Universe 6 arc concurrently, allowing for a higher level of detail in the animation, as this arc is fundamental to the series, being the first real body of original material.
I guess with budgets and manpower etc., this theory doesn't really hold up but I believe this arc was announced almost as soon as the series was, so it has always been planned and it would provide (another) answer as to how the still of Beerus and Champa was used in the promotional trailers back in June.

This month's V-Jump will have a poster for the Champa arc and Toriyama's settei will be displayed in the Dragon Ball Heroes Stage at Jump Festa.HECTOR4 wrote:Another tweet with something about of the new V-Jump and manga chapter, Jump Festa, Akira Toriyama and Bandai (Dragon Ball Heroes):

Oh! I'll be keeping an eye out on Twitter and the like. I really hope someone manages to grab a shot of these, or that they are at least published elsewhere soon.alakazam^ wrote:This month's V-Jump will have a poster for the Champa arc and Toriyama's settei will be displayed in the Dragon Ball Heroes Stage at Jump Festa.

There's no way the arc is finished, let alone has any episodes finished. All of Toei's regulars are busy, they have movies in production and have been struggling to put out episodes to air of just five shows, let alone a held-back set of episodes. Production has probably only just reached the animation of Episode #28.

That would mean he didn't learn anything from his previous mistakes.Pannaliciour wrote:Yeah i like to see that, the Prince of all Pride. At least give him a senzu bean like perfect cell.
July 9th 2018 will be remembered as the day Broly became canon.

Goku is getting the kill anyway so drawing out the Vegeta fight makes it even worse that he doesn't get the kill. On reflection it is probably why I feel like Rage boost Vegeta was done better in movie than show, we know Vegeta wasn't gonna take down Beerus so it was a short but sweet moment of some satisfaction in the movie whereas in the show it was like "okay, can we get to Goku's arrival now".

I'm now really really hoping that Uni 6 gets some good animation because I actually might be skipping Precure next year since the more I read about MahoPri the more it feels like a collection of all the stuff I didn't like from previous series (the form-changes from HaCha, the dual-transformation from Futari wa and Suite, the baby mascot from Fresh and DokiDoki, making the pink cure blonde-haired and blue-eyed from Go!Pri, starting with only 2 cure from Suite) stuff that doesn't interest me in general (the magic school, characters that get older when they transform), and the way the designs look (Purple Cure's super-short bangs, the fact that the hats are tiny little accessories rather than big witch hats). I'm going to still give it the same "try 3 episodes and if you don't like it, drop it" that I give every anime series I try, but right now it's an uphill climb for me with MahoPri. Also coming the year right after super-awesome Go!Pri doesn't help it either.
So, yeah, really hoping for Super's animation schedule to improve in Uni 6 just because I probably won't be following Toei's other shows next year.

I just hope toei ends world trigger, it's just hurting them. Ouch I am really sounding meant to world trigger fans.

I forgot they were even still doing World Trigger.Chuquita wrote:So, yeah, really hoping for Super's animation schedule to improve in Uni 6 just because I probably won't be following Toei's other shows next year.Sodhi wrote:I just hope toei ends world trigger, it's just hurting them. Yeah, I'm ok with them ending that too, but I don't think they will because now that I think about it World Trigger is getting a panel (or sharing a panel?) at Jump Festa this weekend.
Oh wow, Jump Festa's this weekend. O_O;;
I'm still recovering from a cold + rl's been so busy I actually forgot about Jump Festa being this weekend.

"The official website teases a fighting match between universes six and seven. It asks, "What kind of existence is Universe 6?" and, "What are Super Dragon Balls?""
I guess this pretty much confirms again that we're gonna explore the U6 after the tournament.
Other than that, the show doesn't have much going for it in the way of licensing, merchandise sales or ratings..so it's only taking resources.
As for Super, a plausible thing that could happen now, since they're making a big deal out of the new arc and the anniversary, is Toei adding a couple of new animation supervisors to relieve the rotation. Maybe Toma Seizo (episode 4) and Shuichi Iseki (episode 16) will be regulars now? That would make a big difference already.

Probably the only reason WT was extended was Shueisha, they must be happy with the manga sales, and so they commissioned a new season.ArchedThunder wrote:I don't know anything about the show, why is it hurting them?Sodhi wrote:I just hope toei ends world trigger, it's just hurting them. We might actually get to explore Uni 6 after the tournament's over? *Thankful*. I sure hope so. I want an adventure arc so bad.

BOG and ROF were movies.
Universe 6 its the first arc that Toriyama will write since the olds days. I'm curious to know where this will lead, both in quality and longevity.
Toei upgrading the animation would be a cool surprise. Toriyama and the Voice Actors are giving their best ands we are not talking about a ordinary franchise...
The way things work in that studio is strange, to say the least.

A world without Dragon Ball is just boring.
