I'd love to see it, as Viz would likely include it in their localized version of WSJ. If they continue with the monthly format, they will fall behind the anime rather quickly.
Hell no. What if Toriyama's wrist starts to break from all this weekly drawing? The guy's 60-something years old.

Him looking like Gohan could spell bad things for this U6 saiyan. I see an embarrassing as whooping for him .
Why Dragon Ball Consistency in something such as power levels matter!

Shit... that's what I get for coming home from doing errands and seeing Star Wars after, eh?

Anyway, on topic, I still say no, because I want them both to think every 4 weeks of a month of how they can make the story as the best it can be. I doubt the story will be better, but that's what I hope.

I can't see the manga going weekly (it'd have to switch magazines to pull that off, wouldn't it?), but I am kind of curious what they're going to do when the anime inevitably catches up and even outpaces it. I'd hate to see them just stop it, but at the same time, if it stops really being 'previews' for us, then...what purpose does it really have?
EXBadguy wrote:Ah fiction, fiction, fiction. I hate to say it, but thank goodness I'm slowly outgrowing fiction in general.
No offense, but that kind of reaction to not liking a character design just seems...a little over the top. Especially since, at least for me, I can't even imagine how boring life would be without entertainment of some kind, good lord. I'd go mad within a week.

Yeah, but that character design is "a little over the top" I mean, the powerful guy being a short dude with big ass nipples? Really? I only like it when women have those nipples(yeah, yeah I'm a perv). To me, the whole "little shrimp is a powerful being" thing only worked with Frieza, other than that, I consider this slacking, because I thought in the early days he was evolving in his art (i.e. Cell and Super Buu looking like actual threats).

Goku and Vegeta spend 3 days/years in what's described as the "New" RoSaT, presumably meaning it was rebuilt after the Gotenks battle. According to Mr. Herms. might also explain why they can train for 3 days in it

Good to know. Nice that they do have an in-universe explanation. I was willing to accept it either way though because I love the idea of Gokû and Vegeta spending 3 years together in the RoSaT. I would've settled for it being 1 year, but 3 is incredible.
That's steps beyond just rooming together at Beerus' place, where they've at least got nature and surroundings to look at plus other people to talk to. The RoSaT is just the building and nothingness-with-occasional-crazy-weather.

I always kinda assumed there was no need to rebuild it. That it was just restored to normal when the Earth was, because the lookout was back in one piece at the end of the Buu battle despite being smashed to chunks...

Anyway, he also said the dates for the Super Dragon Ball material was based on a "Divine Calendar" in the Japanese version, not the standard AGE one from the series as said in the Korean translation. So people can stop worrying about that "plothole".

Other than that, the rest of it is supposedly the same as from our Korean version summary. Though now I must admit, I'm curious what the conversion rate on the two calendars is. Like, what year in the AGE system is 41 in the "DC" system?

Does anyone think they unlocked a new form during their training ? like a Blue Ssj3 ?
July 9th 2018 will be remembered as the day Broly became canon.

I hope not. We have enough forms for awhile. If we have to have more, I'd prefer something new.

If they have to do something new they should give to U6 Saiyan. Heck, re-canonize SSJ4 design on him/her. But Goku getting 3rd new form in 1 arc would be just too much, at least wait till 2016/2017...

I don't want a new form, but I do want them to at least partly cover their training in the RoSaT. At least reveal who's idea it was for them go train there for 3 years.
*I'm still betting on Vegeta; it seems like a very Vegeta-esque idea to spend 3 years in the RoSaT.

LRT: might be a joke, but this guy says U6 lineup is:
Hit (purple guy)
Cabe (Saiyan?)
Frost (Freeza Clan)
Botamo (bear)
Magetta (robot)
I will laugh so hard if the saiyan really does turn out to be Uni 6 Gokû and Vegeta's kid because "cabe" is the shorter spelling of their ship name. (You see cacavege or kakavege a lot more frequently, but I've seen cabe used on doujin covers before).

It'd also follow the naming convention of all of Gokû's sons sharing the same first syllable of their name with him (since he'd still be Kakarrotto in Uni 6).

3 years is a long time though...perhaps SSJB2? As for the names, those don't really sound right but idk, just my opinion!

It's not about actively making that choice, it's about realizing that your work has an influence and that imposes a responsibility on you, one that you can decide to take or not, but regardless of your choice, it doesn't change the reality of the situation. Saying stuff like "don't make art out of obligation" is nothing but a bunch of empty, meaningless words that people use to excuse themselves for turning a blind eye to the truth.
You are bending over backwards to re-interpret my words to fit your nonsensical agenda. I'll only entertain that to a certain point. I wrote "making stuff to teach kids" not "stuff in general". People who make works "for the children" are the most banal folks on the planet and their lifeless, personality-deprived work becomes nothing but an headache for artists who simply want to create for their own amusement.

Artists are not responsible for advancing the treatment of societal woes. To place some moral authority on their shoulders is disingenuous and immodest.
Sakura wrote::crazy:

It has, literally, zero good female characters. To even make that claim borders on the inexplicable, and soemthing tells me not even you believe what you wrote, since, if you did, this would have surely been the place to make it known which characters you are talking about. Yet, you do not. So indeed we all remain unacquinted with the good female characters of Dragon Ball, just as always.
It has plenty of good female characters. They're not the focus of the series all the time (because Toriyama doesn't give a shit) but that doesn't mean they aren't interesting personalities.

Blooma is the shining example, a shallow, mildly self-centered genius girl who isn't immodest about being shallow and self-centered but also capable of acts of selflessness. Outside of being a genius there is absolutely nothing perfect about her personality. Within the context of Dragon Ball she is no worse developed than any male character.

Artificial Human #18, another likable character who showed camaraderie despite her number one priority always being the acquisition of wealth. She's selfish like Blooma (or hell, Gokuu) but in a quite way. She can't really be bothered with anyone she deems a nuisance or beneath her, but rather than get flustered she winds up side-stepping the issue.

Videl developed from being suspicious and insecure, despite her status as a powerful martial artist capable of fighting crime, to a young woman who didn't get caught up in the small stuff. Experiencing new things and having her sense of reality radically changed by interacting in Gohan's world brought wisdom and calm to Videl. The Videl from the high school arc would have been completely flustered when Chi-Chi made her big stink in Dragon Ball Super Episode #17, but years of experience (and no doubt worry) have taught her to take things in stride and simply do as she pleases.

Having this sort of "give me everything the men get" attitude just for the sake of it, rather than because it is something someone genuinely finds interesting to create, simply isn't respectable. It says women are not ready to fight their own fights or be respected as individuals. It says they are a livestock that needs to be tended to by its politically institutionalized leadership that is no longer fighting for its constituents but what it believes its constituents deserve.

In short, individuals are individuals and this post has gotten really off-track so I'm going to hit up the water cooler.

Still too early to judge him. He could have a super cool transformation. Look at Janemba for example. His fat form is super cute looking and he transforms into something badass.

Speaking of his uneasiness for giant male nipples, there was some concern earlier in the thread that Toei might censor Monaka's nips. Well, an alternate version of the Hakaishin Chamapa Arc poster with the characters a little more spread out is being displayed around Jump Festa. You can clearly see the "Great Ponta", one of his large nipple and its shadow. So I guess no need to worry about censorship on him.

Ooh, fun. Though it seems it's still not clear if these names are real, or just someone making things up. Some seem too on-the-nose (Hit? Frost? Really, now...). But that doesn't mean we can't have fun with wild speculations!

If the robot guy really is named "Magetta", my guess is it's a combination of famous Japanese robot names ("ma" from Mazinger, "getta" from Getter Robo). Because robots.
It'd also follow the naming convention of all of Gokû's sons sharing the same first syllable of their name with him (since he'd still be Kakarrotto in Uni 6).
Well, technically the new Saiyan's (alleged) name is written with "kya" at the beginning, so it wouldn't be the same syllable as "ka".
