I'm probably being a bit nitpicky here but Garlic Jr's arm and hand covering up so much of the screen was pretty annoying.

I'm thinking it will be 1 or 2 with History of Trunks in the other spot. Though then again I guess I could see World's Strongest being 2, but I can't see it being 1 for some reason.

I agree with them on Dead Zone. Garlic Jr is a pretty good villain and he is better then what most people give him credit for. People dislike him because his saga sucks. DBZ Movie 1 is still pretty good though.

I've never really liked Dead Zone that much. I always thought that it was boring. I have a feeling the Trunks Special is going to be #1.

I still think The World's Strongest is gonna top the list. I want Battle Of Gods to be No.1 but I have a strong feeling it won't be.

I'd agree that a lot of the flack Garlic Jr. tends to get is from his saga more so than this film - well, that, and the Pilaf parallels (which hilariously enough end up not being just visual, but audio related, in both English and Japanese no less!). That said though, I'm not really that crazy about the character himself, or even his minions (though the ones in this movie are pretty fun, and definitely more memorable than most other movie minions). What I am crazy about though is the fighting in this movie. It fits right into that end-of-DB/very-beginning-of-DBZ style, where things are still very much hand-to-hand combat focused, but there's also the change of a massive blast coming out to play too. I love that, and the very specific period I'm thinking of lasts way too shortly in the series proper, so it's great to get a couple of movies that have that same style to them as well.

I do agree with TFS with ROF having solid animation. I do think it has the best looking modern Dragon Ball animation in my opinion. The CG was shit, but I don't think anyone was expecting Pixar level of CG in this movie. I rarely see good CG from Japan expect for Appleseed, Advent Children and the CG in the live action movie of Space Battleship Yamato.

I'm just waiting to see their explanation as to why they love World's Strongest so much. Don't get me wrong, it's good, but I never thought it was THE best of the 13 movies.
I could have gotten into anything...and yet I chose the story aimed at young Japanese boys about martial arts, and later about super-powerful aliens punching each other really hard.

Apart from a vanilla villain, this movie succeeds on almost every level.

Characters are all used greatly (except MAYBE Kuririn and ChiChi).
Villains have interesting powers that revolve more around strategy and powers than brute force.
Goku overcomes these enemies and other obstacles in different and creative ways .
Some funny moments.
Great Music.
Genki Dama scene is great. Full of tension but with a soothing hope that I don't think was ever recaptured until the Boo Arc.
AMAZING atmosphere. Dr. Wheelo's Lab is such a unique locale. It's Toriyama meets H.R. Geiger.
Fun fight choreography.
Great animation.
The villains plan is both creative and pretty cool.
Much more stuff really.

I could literally gush about this movie for hours.

Aside from BoG, Worlds Strongest Guy is my favorite movie (although I still think the Bardock Special is better than Movie 2).
How do you get into the Ginyu Force? With a letter of RECOOMEndation!

This is interesting. Movie 2 is their favorite, but yet they have not gone back and abridged it. We'll see if that changes.

Welp, I guess I'm a monkey's uncle :| . They placed History of Trunks at no. 4 to which I disagree with. I thought it was a much better special than Bardock: Father of Goku. It packs an emotional punch and it has a very different tone compared to the rest of the series which is a breath of fresh air. I'm not a big fan of Bardock which is probably why I'm not that big of a fan of his special.

So it all comes down this:

1) Battle of Gods
2) Bardock, Father of Goku
3) World's Strongest

EDIT-...unless they like World Strongest a lot because that last shot at the end was eerily familiar.
