Sometimes sing original music doesn't always mean good for everyone. Some Sailor Moon fans I knew who preferred the original Japanese version all said that they didn't think the original Japanese music flowed very well with the English voices. And the second dub of Gatchaman got a lot of hate from BOTP fans though it was truer to the original story than BOTP.

But the new music made it appeal to more to American audiences. Plus that music just plain worked well. It's not like GT's Dub Music. This music suited the series well, it was updated.

For all it counts for, I like both. Masako Nozawa did a great job of capturing Goku's innocent character, Schemel to me was a great VA for being serious. The seiyuu certainly surpass the Funi group in many areas, in others they either do well or have no option but to do it the way they're told, what really grinds my gears is that people are directly bashing the VA's. Funnily enough they're opinion dosen't matter in the long run, if the director tells them how to do it the way he wants it or they can hit the highway. So if you really want to focus all your energy on bashing the VA's fine, but keep it in mind.

I do agree about Schemmel being abl;e to capture Goku's seriousness more. Esspecially in SSJ4. But I've always found Schemmel to also sound as equally light-hearted as Nozawa.
