Goku as a single minded cultivation.

Discussion, generally of an in-universe nature, regarding any aspect of the franchise (including movies, spin-offs, etc.) such as: techniques, character relationships, internal back-history, its universe, and more.

Goku as a single minded cultivation.

As Akira Toriyama stated Goku is a person who just wants to be stronger than he was before. Even after fighting Piccolo at the tournament and winning, and having 5 years peace. It was stated that Goku even then continued to train even past his maximum. I think Goku and Vegeta are part of a group of individuals in the known universe that seek strength. Nothing else. Usually fighters train to win but not with them. They singularly train just to be stronger. Its like for example Krillin and yamcha never trained in the series past the dragonball series to get stronger. They trained because they didnt have a choice. For them it was train or die........again lmao.
What I'm asking is do you think that if Yamcha or Tien or even Krillin could be as strong as the elite fighters if they change their mindset to only want to be stronger than before.

I think that if guys like Krillin, Tien and Yamcha could keep up with the heavy hitters in Z and beyond, they definitely would have had the confidence to keep on training. The reason why guys like Yamcha and Krillin stopped training after the Cell Games was precisely because of how much stronger guys like Goku, Vegeta and Piccolo were in comparison to them.

Tenshinhan actually talked about training and wanting to fight the androids to see the limits of his strength, doesn't matter if he'd die doing so, which is a motivation similar to Goku's. He did come out of those 3 years of training with the Shin Kikoho, which pushed back Cell at a point where no one else was able to do that, not even #16, who was the strongest at the time, but his base power clearly didn't rise comparably even to pre-Kamisama fusion Piccolo's.

All the humans trained for rivalries and competition all the time in Dragonball. It was the great non-training power ups of the Saiyans (and Piccolo to a lesser extent) that pretty much created a stupidly large gap between them, and killed their motivation. The Cell arc was the first time that you had Kuririn and Yamcha talking about training just because they had to do that, rather than any ambition of their own.
