I didn't realize they got the exact same viewership before you mentioned it, which is quite funny, as they aired in completely different timeslots. These Saturday night movies used to get better ratings a while ago.Sodhi wrote:Yea I was wondering why does this has the same rating as one piece.Araki wrote: Btw, "Saturday Premium Piece Adventure of Ne Blanc Deer" is actually the One Piece tv special.

I'm surprised One Piece is still THAT popular. An 8.6 in ratings for a series that's been airing for years now?
Re: Dragon Ball Super: TV Ratings Discussion Thread
Its nothing compared to Sazae-San, which has been airing from the 60's.precita wrote:I'm surprised One Piece is still THAT popular. An 8.6 in ratings for a series that's been airing for years now?
Re: Dragon Ball Super: TV Ratings Discussion Thread
I know, but One Piece is another shonen series like Dragonball. So its a good comparison as its aimed at the same audience rather than a family oriented show from the 60's.Sodhi wrote:Its nothing compared to Sazae-San, which has been airing from the 60's.precita wrote:I'm surprised One Piece is still THAT popular. Re: Dragon Ball Super: TV Ratings Discussion Thread
All the most popular anime series have been airing for years or decades.
If we look at the typical top 10 these days: Sazae, Maruko, Doraemon, Conan, One Piece, Shin-chan, Dragon Ball Super, Kindaichi, Yokai Watch, Precure/Pokemon, the only new shows are DBS, Kindaichi and Yokai Watch. And still, DB and Kindaichi are old franchises with established fanbases.

120 episode arc!?!?!?. Holy shit and here I thought I should check it out someday.
There's room for only one snake, and one big boss.

It's a great series so you should.Black_Liger wrote:120 episode arc!?!?!?. Holy shit and here I thought I should check it out someday.
I get the number of episodes seems like a lot which it is but the story is so good that once you start you'll have trouble putting it down and you'll be caught up before you know it.
July 9th 2018 will be remembered as the day Broly became canon.
Re: Dragon Ball Super: TV Ratings Discussion Thread

Re: Dragon Ball Super: TV Ratings Discussion Thread
Technically it's only like 95 episodes so far, but yeah, Dressrosa was a very long arc (10 volumes, around 100 chapters in the manga), and Toei adapting the bare minimum amount of manga content possible per episode hasn't helped at all (and neither have the frequent scheduled breaks the manga takes these days).Black_Liger wrote:120 episode arc!?!?!?. 2 episodes left for Super's "real test" to begin. Hopefully ratings will improve (or at least consolidate) from there on.

Any post before 8/7/2016 isn't mine. This account was a gift from someone who thought the account was already banned. Saved me the trouble of making a new one haha XD
