I'm not ruling out more tension filled story arcs until this Champa business is well and truly over.
For all we know Toriyama could be using this tournament to have all the top tiers gathered in one spot, so some creepy villain lurking in the background can set his plan in motion without risk of getting caught.
There's also Champa's real motivations for collecting the Super Dragon Balls, that we have yet to find out. Okay given his general goofy demeanor and the fact, that I find it unlikely he'd do something bad to his brother, maybe he just wants to wish for something dumb like General Red in the RRA arc, like "make me muscular!"

They're among the best characters in the franchise.

They're not bad but they could've been better especially the Saiyan.

If someone who's able to one shot Ssj3 Goku and Mystic Gohan isn't threatening then what is ?

We probably won't but is that what made those arcs so good ?

This applies to most of Super but not the manga and movies.

Wha ? What is the point of this ?

Nex is saddened and embarrassed by where new material has taken us and expects most of us are feeling similar whiplash, but we're too proud and in love with the series to admit it. Although I do not have other family members who love the series as I know he does, so my disappointments are only for myself. I can only guess how that feels.

I must be off soon but I can say one thing in response. I like Beerus and Whis for the same reason I liked Godzilla 2014 (Such a contrarian, I am): they're new angles on old, old properties that I did not think anyone would have the guts to attempt, and Beerus and Whis are the better-executed of the two!

If I'm remembering correctly, you seem to pop up every few months, spout out a bunch of curse-filled tirades, and disappear for a while again when no-one agrees with you and/or you find something else to distract yourself with.

Please stop. If you have something worthwhile to say, actually do so. This is not the way to do it. You already have enough warnings on your account to justify a ban. You're either fishing for it, or legitimately still don't understand how to have a conversation. There's nothing else we can do for you.
