Doomrider Rip Off

Post by DBZ MAN » Sun Jan 14, 2007 11:27 am

I found this video on youtube that has interesting music but don't know where it came from. Do any of you guys reconize it? I think it's probably the Spanish theme for the series. Also the person who made this, took clips from EX's Doomrider project.
Here is the link

It's nothing special but I thought some of you guys would be curious.

Seems to be a few clips he has took from places, or some clips people have took from him. I carn't be sure, but It's not an uncommon thing though sadly.

Yeah heh, he totally did rip of the ''Doomrider Project'', I noticed a few places but the main bit I recognised was when Gohan transformed.

Its nothing, There was an account on this forum named Jr. Goku or something who got banned on his first post because of comments about Iraq blowing up the United States and stuff. I doubt its him but you never know....

Nah lol I doubt it, you'll have to link me up to that I missed it. Anyways I started to make an AMV once, at the time I mentioned it in the chat and got told it was pretty hard ripping and putting it together. Needless to say they were right, (then again I guess I need some better software) anyways, I can see why people rip people's videos because it's harder then what you think to rip a DVD , but regardless they should ask people if they are going to take some of their footage, and if they do go ahead and use it anyways they should at least give them a mention.

Nope. I think we need a FAQ. :)
It's a remix of the Italian DB opening.

One of the bits of philosophy that was handed down to me, and I truly believe in, is the following:
  • We didn't create the song.
  • We didn't create the video footage.
  • The only thing we add to the mix is our interpretation of their combination, including any edits and overlays/effects we add to them.
I believe the context was Scott Melzer was asked at a PortCon Maine AMV panel many years ago by an audience member if they could take a song he used in a video and edit a different anime to it, using the exact same cuts and effects he used in the video in the exact same places (just with a different show). Here is that point of... he didn't create the audio... he didn't create the footage... the only thing he made happened to be the "edits" to the video, so if someone takes that, what purpose does either video now serve?

Maybe that makes sense, maybe it doesn't... but at the end of the day, it's the internet, and every kid thinks they can take anything they want for free and do whatever they want with it. The only thing we can take comfort in is that our AMV project has been played at conventions throughout the entire world and has been seen by hundreds of thousands of people both at these conventions and online via our download on the site, on AnimeMusicVideos.org, on BitTorrent sites, on video sharing sites, etc. That video will never have that exposure.

Well said. The video barely has many views when you look at it like that and I guess I should have posted the topic here, sorry about that.

I know, your right and I agree with you, I also know that there is nothing you can do, and yeah again I guess you are right that you have had the satisfaction of having hundreds and thousands of people viewing it, that's actually something you are probably proud of. I know the footage and music isn't yours but you must feel the slightest bit annoyed when people take your clip that you have edited and worked so hard to achieve to get it looking right and the way you want it, and put it into another video which they are claiming as their own.
