Why all the display of Registered Trademark and Copyright?

Post by Anonymous Friend » Sun Jan 21, 2007 3:30 am

I first noticed this when I bought Final Bout in 2000, but it shows up in every Dragonball game that I've played ever since. After most character name or location or any thing that that could be copyrighted or registered? Isn't that why you list stuff like that in the manual and on the disk and in the game?

It's at a point for me where it's highly irritating.

Sorry for the less than grammatical correct thread title. I ran out of space.

Dosen't everyone put copyrights behind thier "products" name?

If not apparently I've been living in a hole or something.

There's an old thread about something similar here:

No, not right there on the screen. Like when you play Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat, there is no TM or R right next to there names. I know this has to do with copyrights and licenses but Iam sure someone here could explaine this in better detail.

By the way, this has come up many times before. Once by me. :o

I'm pretty sure this doesn't apply to EU versions of DBZ games though. Never saw them. Silly Americans ;)

I am sure it is just a way to charge more money or something.
I mean for those who like money.

No, I've seen them used here and I have only played PAL versions of DBZ games.

I wish I knew, I find the whole thing really irritating. It would be nice to go through the story mode without having giant copright logos thrown at me through the screen.

Yeah, the characters and series is liscensed. We get it. You can stop now Toei / developer / Bandai / Funimation / Atari / whoever the hell it is.

They are only on some characters, not everyone.

I kind of got the idea when the question was answered in podcast #32(?): http://db.schuby.org/daizex/viewtopic.php?t=3678

You can call me Rick because I'm not actually Piccolo.
I missed out on all of the DB Movie fun, huh?
Point blank: it's gonna suck if you want it to. Personally, I'm seeing it as a comedy.
