There's actually a fun story behind the sixth One Piece movie.
Apparently, Hosoda based the main villain off of Hayao Miyazaki of all people, after he went through a messy break-up with Studio Ghibli.
How crazy would it be to have Hosoda work on Toei properties again? I mean, it's best that he's moved on to bigger and better things (
Summer Wars, Wolf Children, The Boy and the Beast), but it would fun having Dragon Ball worked on by such an up-and-coming animator.
Favorite Movies: Alien, Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, The Thing, Evil Dead, The Land Before Time
Favorite Shows: Cardcaptor Sakura, Doctor Who, Wallace and Gromit, Wakfu, Yu Yu Hakusho
Favorite Manga: Fullmetal Alchemist, Hunter x Hunter, Dragon Ball
Augenis wrote:The power level view into the series has trained a significant portion of the fan base into real life stereotypical members of the Freeza empire, where each and every individual is reduced to a floating number above their heads and any sudden changes to said number are met with shock and confusion.

Hosoda probably won't return to directing stuff that isn't his original ideas. If he did it would probably be for Digimon, which he has a heavier history with.

Since Yamamuro is not the series director (that's Chioka Kimitoshi) but the lead animator/designer, his past equivalents were Minoru Maeda (DB, Z 1-199) and Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru (Z 200-291, GT). Maeda seems pretty popular (at least here on Kanzenshuu), while Nakatsuru was once considered the definitive Toriyama-style artist.

Humorously enough. None of the three lead designers have outstanding careers as animators. Certainly not to the extent of other series, at least.

Beerus looked terrible 90% of the time he was on screen.
That has nothing to do with the animation of the episode.

I'm so anxious for the next King Ryû episode; it feels like it's been so long since they've been on an episode.

Sometimes the best things are found when we least expect. Found this one by accident today:
http://corp.toei-anim.co.jp/en/outline/ ... production
For some people here this is nothing new. For others, I think its a good breakdown of how things work from the production point of view.

Washi Blog has a much more detailed write up of the process of animation making
here. Further explanation of the credits in animation can be found

Nothing in Toriyama's quote refers to the animation.

Since I'm not as informed, how likely is it that Toei listens to whatever concerns Toriyama brings forth to them (whether it be animation or anything else)? I myself am skeptical of significant change, but I also don't know if there are routes Toei could take to improve the quality at this point while staying on schedule.

They listen and take his words seriously. Whethet it is possible to change thinggs is another matter. Staff does not merely appear out of nowhere.

That's what I figured. I know Toriyama is highly respected but I also know it'll be difficult to fix things right this moment. I assumed that they'd need to hire more staff, but I don't know just how much they'd need or how expensive they'd be.

Lets hope for the best. All this negativity doesn't help anyone.
Fans complained. Toriyama complained. If Toriyama is complaining for the same things, we don't know.
Let's see how Toei deals with this.

Not being negative, just trying to keep my hopes from getting too high since as mentioned before, it will probably cost Toei money for this show to improve quality wise at this point in time. I will say that if anyone could get something worked out though, its Toriyama.
The art and animation in Super doesn't even bother me as much as it does other people. I dislike the fight choreography, but I at least hope we can get an entertaining story. I actually like Super so far minus the 'F' stuff, I just don't know what to expect right now.

Don't worry, no one of us do.
Besides episode 5 and Goku vs Freeza, I also don't have much problem with Super animation/art.
