It'll more then likely be 6 parts then collected into 3 seasons.

Part 1 : 1-12
Part 2 : 13-23
Part 3 : 24-35
Part 4 : 36-46
Part 5 : 47-58
Part 6 : 59-69
July 9th 2018 will be remembered as the day Broly became canon.

Most likely, especially since Funimation might be into the idea of having as many releases as possible for sale purposes (like with 8 Kai part releases followed by 4 Kai season set releases). As for when this might be announced, Funimation has apparently planned their April 2016 releases (http://www.fandompost.com/2016/01/13/gu ... ase-slate/) and Kai isn't on it. But as evidenced by when Funimation's acquisition of Dragon Ball Kai (first series) was announced back in February 2010 (http://ir.navarre.com/phoenix.zhtml?c=1 ... ID=1395751), it's possible we might get an announcement next month. This combined with Funimation always making sure to release new DB content every year since they've had the DB property supports we could see it this year (I know I keep bringing this up). However, I have no idea how Funimation's release schedule works.

Because of this (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=icTqUqhHKQY), people are speculating it will air on Toonami first because of Toei possibly pushing for a TV deal. But Kai is only 53 episodes in and is BARELY hitting the Android Saga so there's still less than a year left (98 episodes - 53 episodes = 44 more episodes/weeks, excluding possible Toonami breaks) from this point on until Kai finishes its first run on Toonami.

However, like someone else on here previously mentioned, Funimation might be planning a cable channel (http://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases ... 92374.html) and has also announced a new logo/streaming service (http://www.fandompost.com/2016/01/07/fu ... new-plans/). Finally, notice a pattern here. The original announcement of Funimation's acquisition of Dragon Ball Kai was announced in February of 2010 and the series released and aired in May 2010. Now, they're teasing new apps for both February and May 2016 (this could simply be a seasonal thing with August and November being the next months).

I'm most definitely probably overspeculating, but with them rebranding themselves and teasing their new plans, does anyone think this includes Dragon Ball Z Kai: The Final Chapters (which Justin Cook has already confirmed they're doing as someone else had previously mentioned on here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K6Udydd ... .be&t=1358)???!!! I understand this constant talk of possibilities can get dull and we should probably just wait for a proper announcement, but I'm just curious.

^I think you're on to something man! :D

There's one thing in particular I'm curious about, a minor thing. The Cell Games Reenactment. We know it was kept in the 69 episode version.

Thanks, I've been obsessing and researching about Funimation's Kai: The Final Chapters (Buu Saga) for months now. But, what are you curious about exactly? How it's going to be handled when Funimation FINALLY releases the Buu Saga? Or if it was in Japan's Kai Buu Saga?

How it's going to be handled. The Z dub changed it considerably from the original, making a lot funnier and cheesier than the original. I already know it was cut from the 61 Episode version. Also, I wonder if there are going to be any cast changes?

I bet you they'll still make it funny, but it might not be as funny as the original Funimation version. Still, Funimation doesn't always try to be EXACTLY like the Japanese version in terms of how they handle certain scenes, but for Kai, it will probably be much more accurate to the original version but still possibly taking some liberties for fun comedic purposes. I can't say for sure though.

As for recasts, I'm also not sure. I always liked the thought of a new Goten for freshness sake. From the recent DBZ games/movies, it seems Kara Edwards will return as both Goten and Videl. Kara stated at Waicon 2013 that if given the chance to voice her characters again, Videl would remain the same, but she would change the pitch of Goten's voice to make it less straining for her voice (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qEZE86hUyTI#t=7m09s). This is something that we have already kind of seen in Battle of Gods and with Xenoverse's Goten. As for her updated Kai Videl, the new Ford DBZ commercial has given us a good indication of her new and improved Videl voice (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K4IA_NMNHQ4#t=15s).

These are the recasts I can see possibly happening: Spopovich, Yamu, Dabura, and Babidi. Justin Cook has already confirmed he's voicing for Kai, which means he's mostly back as Super Buu and I read a forum where a fan said that at a convention, Kibito's voice actor (Chuck Huber) said he is returning for the part. And I can't see them recasting Supreme Kai or Old Kai since they kept their same voice actors in Battle of Gods. All I know is, Gohan's entire high school classmates and teachers should get new voice actors. I want them to sound more authentic as high schoolers. For example, Cherami Leigh (voices Lucy in Fairy Tail) could voice Erasa for Kai. I guess it's not needed though, but the guy who voices Pen sounds hilariously strange.

Once FUNimation's new channel comes out, I'm certain they'd start with Dragon Ball Super over Kai. It'd be more powerful marketing to launch a new channel with a new DB series premiering in English on their network as opposed to anywhere else. Aside from the new dub, the Buu saga has been rereleased numerous times and is widely available everywhere in some format. The goal of the new FUNimation channel is more than likely to air brand new English dubs of new shows as well as of their most popular ongoing franchises (DB Super, Fairy Tail, One Piece). Unless Toei wants them to air Kai before Super, FUNi will probably leave the Buu Saga of Kai for when Toonami reaches that point. I know it might not be for another whole year and it sucks, but we've waited this long already. We'll live.

The same would apply to Super. I don't really see any good reason as to why Funi would go straight for Super when Kai is already complete or nearly complete. The series has only been running for half a year and fans are already expecting a dub announcement of it? As far as we know, they haven't even been able to license it yet.

So you think they're going to release DB Super on the Funimation Channel and on Blu-ray/DVD this year? If that's the case, they'll have to do the first two arcs (Battle of Gods, Resurrection F) again in series form? That is, unless they somehow had access to future Super episodes and were dubbing them behind the scenes, but I highly doubt this. In my opinion, it'd be better to release the Buu Saga of Kai this year so they can give DB Super more time to get through the Champa Arc.

That way, they can release more of DB Super without waiting. In a perfect world though, Buu Saga of Kai AND DB Super would be released by Funimation this year, which is a possibility considering they have released Dragon Ball/Dragon Ball Z/Dragon Ball GT content simultaneously in the past. But I want them to release the Buu Saga of Kai first so they can go seamlessly into Dragon Ball Super having told the Buu Saga so newer fans can watch Super as their GT, with the Beerus Saga following.

On a side note, imagine if Kai: The Final Chapters aired on TV, but omitted the last two episodes (Goku vs Uub stuff timeskip stuff) and went right into Dragon Ball Super (saving the last two episodes for home release). That'll be awesome if you know what I mean.

Seeing that Toonami won't have any marathons for a while, we should be at the Cell saga by summer. So my guess we will see the Buu saga Kai by September or October. Probably no home video release until Kai finish airing.

This Saturday we're supposed to start the Trunks portion, so it all depends on if anything out of the ordinary happens like, say, a special or marathon. So I guess that means we'll probably start Buu around next year assuming things go well.

Another question: what're they gonna do with Ep. 98? That one's historically been presented as a Bonus Episode; are they going to run it alongside the rest or keep it bonus?

I always imagined they'd just show Episode 98 on Toonami. It wasn't shown in Japan due to the earthquake that occurred in 2011, which from what I remember, this delay understandably caused the final two episodes to not air for a while until they were eventually replaced with Shunsuke Kikuchi's music rather than Kenji Yamamoto. Nicktoons eventually showed Episode 98 in 2013 (after a showing of The History of Trunks, which was awesome on their part), but it took them one year after they aired Episode 97 in 2012. So, if it showed on Nicktoons, I see no reason why it wouldn't show on Toonami with all the episodes now properly finished.

Also, there's this from Sean Schemmel: https://twitter.com/SeanSchemmel/status ... 1453125633 His hashtag states it's not Dragon Ball Super, but perhaps the Kai Buu Saga? The fact that he recorded in Texas where Funimation is located AND states that his voice is GONE adds to this theory. Fans on the DBZ reddit (where I found out about this news) speculate this could have been the SSJ3 power up scene. But sadly, this might also mean the Kai Buu Saga hasn't been finished by Funimation as well all originally thought. Is this the case or could he just be redoing something (kind of doubt the redo)? Also, this might confirm that Kai's Buu Saga might actually not come until 2017, which is when Toonami will finish it's run of Kai's Cell Saga/first run of Dragon Ball Z Kai. Thoughts?

^We know they're further along then that judging by that talk with Kyle Hebert. Perhaps he is referring to doing Vegito's voice in a Chris Sabat impression like Justin Cook revealed?

I don't think they've been dubbing Buu Kai in episode order its just a hunch but I believe they may have been doing lines for Goku first and after thats done doing all the screaming which would make sense because if his voice blew out he wouldn't sound bad for the rest of his speaking lines. So maybe Sean's finishing up with Transformation screams which would obviously be SSJ3.

Well, Justin Cook made it sound like from last year that they're already finished with the Vegito stuff. THIS WHOLE SITUATION IS CONFUSING!!!
