That's mildly disappointing, but it could always come later I suppose, if not actually having something there in the anime version of things.

So can someone explain to me what was the point of buu being on the poster if not even going to participate in the tournament?

To not spoil that it's going to be a lop sided tournament right away probably.

There's also the possibility that, should the tournament not actually get to play out to it's conclusion, Boo still gets a fight there somehow or another.

The tournament likely will take longer to start in the anime, so Buu might pop up in a few episodes, which would explain including him in promo stuff.

I'm upset about it as well, but we'll see how the arc plays out, maybe Buu will get to be of some use.

Fun looking chapter. Can't wait to know what is said.

-Goku barely passes. I called that. Too easy of a joke not to see coming. Still kinda funny, but too predictable.
-Called Boo would probably fail, though I wasn't fully convinced and did match him up with Botamo anyways. So that's 1 extra character down who didn't get any good showing. I'm 1/1 so far. If Piccolo jobs like I predict he will, that' 2/2.
-The saiyan seems like a really nice person and possibly polite I hear? Yeah already getting the Gohan clone number 3 vibes. Let's hope that's not the case.
-Wait so they're not gonna replace Boo at all? That's lame. It's lame he can't fight, but even lamer that the 5th spot is now vacant. Come on send Kibito to get Gohan or get someone in the audience who can fight at the very least.
-Goku and Botamo's fight is pretty cool. I like it.

Not to "this is a very Gokû question of me", but Kyabe is a boy, right? There's semi-old rumors floating around the internet that Kyabe's a girl.

Gokû balancing that pencil on his face, and Vegeta's plan blowing up on him (and Gokû giving him that sour face) was great.

Interesting that Botamo has Buu (well, Buu and Freeza) type ears (only they're where a bear's ears would be).

Did you guys noticed the audience members for Universe 6, some of them have symbols in their clothes. Could they be their Kaios?

It was the kanji for "6". They're most likely there to cheer the team.

So, I'm reading the 2ch thread and spotted a guy that was giving spoilers about the chapter. He does talk about some of the dialogue. While I don't know if he's to be trusted, he did get everything right about the chapter so I'll post it but take this with a grain of salt.

Like previously said, Cabba/Kyabe/Cabe is a pure, good Saiyajin that doesn't like bad stuff.
Beers has a barrier covering the ring so the audience doesn't get involved.
Magetta isn't a robot but an alien (species?) known as Metalman.
Botamo looks "tufty" but actually he's slippery/smooth.
Goku says "this could end with just me" so I guess it's a confirmation this is like the tournament at Uranai Baba's.

I'm not going to lie -- so far the tournament seems underwhelming to me. If Piccolo is exploited as a sacrificial lamb to demonstrate how powerful the other team is then the arc will have lost some serious credibility with me. Not everyone is rooting exclusively for the two Saiyans and I doubt Monaka is garnering the same enthusiasm from fans like Piccolo does. On the plus side, Kyabe seems to have more personality than many of us probably anticipated he would. I'm actually looking sort of forward to more interactions with him.
