The two characters look nothing a like. They are both yellow bears, but that's about it. He may be a homage of Winnie the Poo, but not a straight up rip off.

Nah, he's a super simple design, if anything he should be pretty easy to keep consistent, the only thing that will probably vary greatly is the quality of his shading.

I may not be completely on board with all of modern DB's ideas, but it's nice that the original author validates the criticism I have of the shows quality!
