Piano, Drum and Tambourine-namekians?

Piccolo's demon spawn do not resemble the Namekians of DBZ, so should they be considered Namekian afterall?

Namekian mutants maybe. I just think of them as demons with a touch of Namekian ancestry in them. They clearly don't share all Namekian traits like regeneration.

Definately not full nakemekian at the most, PiccoloJr would be a full namekain. I think Piccolo has the power to create demons or at least mutanted Namekians as they are all green and share some namekian features.

Spur-of-the-moment minions created with a really long filler sequence for Cymbal, and really short for Drum (of course Piccolo changed ages then...).

Eh, probably demons, but given life due to Piccolo's Namek-ness. It was probably cheaper to make them not-full-Namekians... what with Piccolo being the anti-kami, basically...

And Piccolo Jr was a Namek because he was a true spawn intended to continue the legacy, which a demon mutant thing couldn't do...

I think this question was answered in a podcast.. I think the reason Drum and the others appear different is because the whole setup was for them to be demons. I think the only reason Piccolo Jr. looks like his father is because he was his reincarnation. I don't think the whole namekian aspect of the series was there just yet.

It's because King Piccolo was a demon of course. He's wasn't a normal Namekian, he was pure evil and hate, and he wasn't born from an egg, he was split. They don't resemble anything close to being Namekian, thus they aren't.

How'd you get Piano? Cymbal is the other one by the way.

That little guy Piano is in there. He's the first minion that Piccolo creates, but we don't see him do it since he's already done so by the time we catch up with him and Pilaf.

I think Piano is a dub name, his real name is unknown but since Piccolo's minions are all named after muscial instruments, why not Piano?

It was listed as Piano in the Pojo DBZ guide from way back when. Not reliable, but predates the Funi dub of the Piccolo Daimao saga.

He is named Piano. Piccolo calls him Piano only once, during the scene where he throws Pilaf and his crew off of his ship.

I've always believed them to be mostly demons. Maybe 5-10% Namekian. But mostly pure evil incarnations.

Since King Piccolo is an evil dark side of Kami come alife, I say he is less than half of a Namekian. So the demons are either about 1-5% namekian or full demon. The re plothole is how can a demon produce a full namekian? I guess when Akira Toriyama decided to change Piccolo into a namekian, he was thinking, "Wait, wouldn't they asked if Piccolo a hlaf demon or not? Nah..."
