I would say it's smidge better. Maybe this means the HD Dragon Ball Z anime might come from FUNi too? It's 4x3 tho it may be a good thing but I'm expecting the season setssumpter360 wrote:This screenshot comparison confirms it for me. Too bad. I'd love to see the movies with a proper HD release...

This confirms absolutely nothing. The spanish BD shot looks more grainy, too.sumpter360 wrote:This screenshot comparison confirms it for me. Too bad. I'd love to see the movies with a proper HD release...

Yeah the FUNi one looks slightly blurred. Not a huge fan of the movies so I'll stick with FUNi's.

So are these Blu-Ray came from Toei or did the company Spain work on these themselves?

The comparison does confirm that this release is sourced from FUNi's remaster, though. Framing cannot unerringly match that of other transfers by coincidence. Also, the grain you're talking about actually is mosquito noise that comes from jpeg compression.sangofe wrote:This confirms absolutely nothing. Even Spain is getting a Blu-Ray release while Brazil doesn't get even a decent DVD release.

According to some TV Media sites, Toei will give TV Stations in Latin America access to a newly remastered DBZ, but its only on tv. Sucks to be in Latin America.

I don't think they have the money to cover for production of Blu Rays...Bardo117 wrote:Why the hell doesn't Mexico release anything smh

It's only my opinion, but I think Latin American companies don't see this region as a profitable market, because...you know...piracy is a big problem here.Cure Dragon 255 wrote:Bardo117 wrote:Why the hell doesn't Mexico release anything smh

No, its just that Toei shits on us because they can. BoG and RF did gangbusters in Latin America, despite all that piracy. But actually releasing the show and redub One Piece?Noooooooooooooooooooo.
God I really hate Toei.

Yeah, I was going to point out that it's just compression. Crazy enough, the colors are actually brighter! If that's how the colors actually look, then movie 6 is screwed.kei17 wrote:The comparison does confirm that this release is sourced from FUNi's remaster, though. That's looks like a cel (when FUNimation released the Double Features, they posted lots of cels from the films onto Amazon for whatever reason, and this looks like one of them), and the shot seems to be to show how Blu-ray has a higher resolution.Kojiro Sasaki wrote:

How can you say this looks better then anything? It's not a "real" screen shot. It's just a tiny image of a screen shot.
Re: Spain: DBZ movies will be released on Blu-Ray
Right, so it might actually be the very same thing, or at least source?kei17 wrote:The comparison does confirm that this release is sourced from FUNi's remaster, though.
