How would you write a story about Cell coming back?

I'd make a semi-horror story about Cell coming back as Cell X from DB Online, but with more scarier features along with him flying involves his wings out like a bee and a big ass stinger of a wasp or similar to the Imperfect Cell.

It would take place after Super and it involves a few pieces of Cell's membrane from the laboratory that Krillin and Trunks destroyed. Then the few pieces gets to grow more and more into the Cell we all know, and he'll just observe the battles of the Buu saga and Super, then when the Z warriors come back, he'll wipe most of the Z warriors out, forcing Gohan to fight again since he observed the "other" Cell as Gohan's arch-nemesis.

Honestly, I wouldn't. I think the "bring back the old villain" thing is really overdone, especially in Dragon Ball. I think now more than ever with Super we need all new characters and stories. I'm not sure how others feel, but I think Super made a mistake with retelling the movies, they should have moved right into new frontiers from the get-go. For me the Cell arc wrapped things up pretty nicely not only in the current timeline, but the future Trunks timeline as well, so it would seem disingenuous to the narrative to be like "oh yeah, he survived!" or something to that effect.

I suppose they could bring in a Cell from yet another alternate timeline if they really wanted to do it, though.

I wouldn't. We've been dealing with the same villains for years, over and over through the games. Let's focus entirely on new material from here on out.
