A few things that ought to be noted from Episode 29...

The suits Vegeta and Goku were wearing are really heavy. The "slow" response of Goku in catching the egg Champa threw him made Champa severely underestimate his power.

Champa drinks a healthy beverage Vados gave him and shouts "Niga niga niga!" which was not translated. Another user in the Episode 29 thread pointed out that it is short for "Nigai" and means "Bitter" which makes sense given the context.

Shenron is still frightened of Beerus and also reveals the limitations he has because of Earth's Dragon Balls.

It is revealed that Universe 6 and 7 each have their own set of Super Dragon Balls, or at least implied to be the case. Maybe the original idea that they are spread between the Universes might still be corroborated by Zuno.

The trepidation Bulma felt of Beerus might be a foreshadowing of some sort. Though Vegeta does say he sticks to his principles.

Champa and Vados don't seem particularly threatening. However, Vados abilities on the Nameless Planet are quite apparent - she effortlessly made matter materialize.

I think Beerus is just mistaken, since the manga already told us that there's only one set for both universes. I don't see why the anime would be different.

I think that scene was part of Toriyama's outline, but the manga skipped it for space.

It was translated. You're not watching "episode 29", you're watching "one specific and very bad fansub of episode 29".

There is a really bad one (fast), a decent one (fast) and a relly good one (slow).

There's a fansub out there that is very reliable and come up a subbed version just about a day after an episode is aired.

I think we're talking about the same guy, he's fast and accurate.

You really need to start watching decent subs instead of going with terrible ones followed by a bunch of questions about what they REALLY said.
No, I don't really need to do that. I watch, whatever I want and ask questions about it here, if something seems off. That's the entire point of this thread.
Even then, what I watched had been mostly accurate or at the very least the parts Herms and Emma Winters chose to post up here and that's why I question it, whenever there are clear contradictions in an otherwise decent translation.

If fans stopped entertaining these idiots, this thread wouldn't need to exist in the first place.

No, the thread exists to reduce the damage caused by people watching terrible fansubs and quoting them all over the place, causing misinformation to spread like wildfire. It's not an open invitation to knowingly watch that garbage and then just spotcheck a quick list of stuff that's important to not get wrong. That awful attitude of yours is the entire reason the thread needs to exist at all.

Except they're not.

Just last week a group decided that there was a 13th Universe that housed the other 12.

This type of misinformation is rampant. Every. single. week.

Yes, Dragon Team... and that's it. They were there from the start.

Herms' opening post:
Herms wrote:Your one-stop shop for any “fansubs say X! Is that really what’s said?”-type questions relating to DB Super. I have a feeling this will end up mostly centering around strength stuff, but I want to keep things open enough to include any quotes that have been seriously mistranslated or I just find personally interesting. If there are any lines you’re curious about, ask away.
It's a thread, where we can ask, when we're in doubt about the fansubs' translations, which is exactly, what I have been doing. The list just made it an easier format to navigate and gathered all the lines I was curious about in one spot, even offering potential help for Herms and EmmaWinters, if they wanted it.
That awful attitude of yours is the entire reason the thread needs to exist at all.
Hold on now, awful attitude? What do you mean?
All I have done here is provide a list for interesting lines, that could be checked up on, because they come from questionable fansubs.
It's you, that's come back with a mocking comment to an off-hand comment about Wish Orbs being erroneously translated as Dragon Balls, when they clearly don't say Dragon Balls and telling me what to do, which of course I don't need to do.
Crappy fansubs are here to stay unfortunately(or maybe not given Toei and co. are aware). Where I'm watching seem to just go with whatever comes first and so the quality can differ greatly. So one week, everything is on point, but then the next it isn't and even some lines aren't even translated  like I pointed out in that huge post. I don't see the need to change site as we have this thread and ever since very early on, whenever there is a problem, I come here and keep it in this thread, until it has been confirmed or denied by capable translators, as the OP welcomes us to do.

Some get a lot right, but then screw up majorly at some point. Sometimes I have a suspicion, the things they get right(like some strength comparison most people are interested in) come from taking a quick look at Herms' twitter, when an episode has just aired.

Woof. That kind of fuck-up can only be intentional. Seriously, how can you screw something like that up? :?

Funnily enough, when corrected, they stood by their translation, citing that their native Japanese friend confirmed it was correct. It was only when someone broke down the explanation line by line that they finally admitted they were wrong.

The other speedsub actually asked this group for an explanation because they couldn't work it out for themselves. Of course, these fools told them the same incorrect 13th universe thing again.

It's embarrassing. I'm actually blown away at the ridiculous mentalities in this thread. There is one good group. That's it. The only other solid one were C&D'd.

If you're not waiting for them, you're doing it wrong. You should know better. The only reason any of these speedsubs have been moderately acceptable in the past, is because they had movies with already stellar translations to base them off.

If you look at the new tidbits that Super added, you'll find that these speedsubs messed them up every single time. But who cares, right? It's "close enough". It'll do. Nevermind about this nonsense sticking around for years on end.
