Discussion, generally of an in-universe nature, regarding any aspect of the franchise (including movies, spin-offs, etc.) such as: techniques, character relationships, internal back-history, its universe, and more.

I was including those. Still only several dozen, maybe around 100 visible in that image.
My point is that it's not a good idea to take animation shots like that literally.
Were are you only getting 100 from?
Every single dot is a galaxy and I clearly see more than 100 dots and nowhere did it say it was the center of the universe because they have no idea where to find that.
The point being is that the DB universe is equal to our own is size and puts to rest it was only 4 galaxies big.
If they wanted to show 4 galaxies they would've by now

Plus, you have to take into account galaxies you can't see by the naked eye, which are many.
Spoiler:
Akira Toriyama wrote:My policy is to try and forget things once they’re over. Since if I don’t discard the old and focus on what’s new, I’ll overload my brain capacity. I still haven’t lived down going, “Who the heck is Tao Pai-pai?” that one time I was talking with Ei’ichiro Oda-kun. But the fact that there are still people reading the series after all this time… All I can say is; “thank you.” Really, that’s all.

Kunzait_83 wrote:And if you're upset because all this new material completely invalidates the tabletop RPG rulebook-sized statistical system and flowchart for the characters' "canonical Power Levels" that you'd been working on painstakingly for the last bunch of years now... well I don't think there's a kind, non-blunt way of saying this, but that's 100% entirely your own misguided fault for buying so deeply into all this nonsensical garbage in the first place. And that you also have IMMENSELY skewed and comically backwards priorities in what you think is most important and needed to make a good Dragon Ball story.

I believe Bulma actually says that they are on the outskirts of the universe and if you want to use the Super Dragon ball radar efficiently you have to move to the centre of the universe so that it can scan the whole universe.
This question has been answered. Any notion that the universe contained only 4 galaxies was crushed the moment that scene in the last episode came up that displayed tons of galaxies.

first of all , what?
second literlly or not you get the point that they tryed to show.
I'm saying that judging simply by animation shots (which are done by many different animators and often contradict one another) is silly, and if you do want to go by them, you have to be consistent and take them literally, so if they show dozens of galaxies, that means billions as much as it means 4.
I am much more trusting of actual statements, so if the part where Jaco says there are 'countless galaxies like the Milky Way' in the universe appears in the anime, that will be much better evidence than all of the animation shots in the world, from my perspective.
If they wanted to show 4 galaxies they would've showed 4 it's quite simple.
They showed tons of galaxies meaning they want to show the universe is huge. That's what they wanted too show. Why would Jaco's statement be held to a higher standard to what's shown on screen?
Because background animation does not come from the script/writers, it comes from the animators, and it's so often inconsistent. That's why I value an actual statement as part of the plot so much more.
I don't see how this is even a thing now super show multiple times there's more than 4 galaxies that with Jaco line this should put to end this argument.
its not like the animators can make the universe how they want.
toriyama told toei the universe is vast and the plot is that the universe is to big to find the center.
if they where only 4 galaxies some1 would have said it.
they can animate how they want in their own style but they cant radomly show something that is outright bullshit.
that doesnt matter anyway's.
since you have to prove your argument.
until than its countless galaxies.

I don't have an argument. I'm just saying that I favor actual plot-relevant lines and info over background animations.
The line in question if it appears should appear next episode anyway. Are you so impatient that you are determined to change my epistemology before that?
Bulma asks Jaco about taking her to the center of the universe, but he considers this request ridiculous. The galaxy is incredibly vast, and the universe as a whole contains an enormous number of galaxies, so there’s no way he could go to the very center
As if it wasn't obviously already here's more proof from episode 31 of dragon Ball super

Why does it matter if it's 4 or a lot of galaxies?
