What's going on with imgur? Used to work flawlessly, now nothing shows when hotlinked?

Just popped into this thread to check something, and it looks like all the imgur embeds are suddenly working again?
Re: Animation Catalogue - [Updated with #29]
Seems Imgur fixed itself.
Episode 30:
Animation Supervisor:
Masahiro Shimanuki
Key Animators:
Nashizawa Takashi, Shimanuki Masahiro, Tsuji Miyako, Matsumoto Katsuji, TAP
Looking at this, it doesn't seem like Shimanuki touched the first half of the episode at all. Unsurprisingly, really. Still, it's interesting to see the style shift so drastically in the second half. I feel like he's starting to get back into drawing Dragon Ball a little now. Although he still has a major issue drawing Vegeta with a wide face. There's a pretty dramatic increase in quality starting from his 20, and hitting its highest in 25. Hope it continues.

Re: Animation Catalogue - [Updated with #30]
The info on credits is up on Animator's Corner. Chief Animation Supervisor Tsuji Miyako did some key animation. Actually it seems that Takeo and Tsuji have been stepping in as the key animators lately. I assume they are there to help reduce the workload for regular supervisors.
Another thing I noticed is only four key animators are credited. Who knows how many animators at TAP key animated the episode? The schedule seems to be improving with the new arc. The recap episode may help ease it a bit though.

I just noticed that Nashizawa Takashi has done key animation of two episode straight now.DragonBalllKaiHD wrote: Another thing I noticed is only four key animators are credited. Re: Animation Catalogue - [Updated with #30]
It's not impossible. Shindou Mitsuo, former animation supervisor for Dragon Ball, does key animation for three or four episodes of One Piece in a row. He's either doing very few shots or is very fast.
Re: Animation Catalogue - [Updated with #30]
Wow, Super finally has an episode with a decent looking Piccolo in it.
When someone tells you, "Don't present your opinion as fact," what they're actually saying is, "Don't present your opinion with any conviction. Because I don't like your opinion, and I want to be able to dismiss it as easily as possible." Don't fall for it.

Comparing his early Super work to now is like night and day:
Initially, all of his face shapes were wrong, the ears stuck out too much, and the hair sat too close to the head.

Eh, I guess I need to be the party pooper here. I think Shimanuki's work looks atrocious still. The drawings don't have to look anything but nice, but here he keeps drawing inconsistly but consistly different forms of ugly. Piccolo might have looked a little more mid-Dragon Ball Z but that does not mean it was easy on the eyes. That training scene alone was so terribly timed, too. I do not knowwhat happened to Shimanuki but he needs to quit.
Re: Animation Catalogue - [Updated with #30]
Oh, don't get me wrong, his ability to actually animate is pretty hit and miss. As much as I liked his cut in episode 25, it was pretty damn stiff. Same with the fight this week.
I'm just looking for little improvements here and there. I'm being the optimist!
Give me more Tate goodness.

I still despise Shimanuki's style, even in Z. Sorry, those wide faces don't do it for me.
Re: Animation Catalogue - [Updated with #30]
I had this dream last night. In that dream tate got angry and he left dragon ball super permanently. I was like noooooooooooooooooooo. I think he was complaining about how little time he gets on his episodes and sometimes is forced to do some episodes. Thank god it was just a dream. Just wanted to share it, because it was really weird.

I'm really liking how Shimanuki is properly shading the faces. Too many of the other artists still adhere to Yamamuro's models with the incorrect shading, so it's always good to see certain artists realizing the shading shouldn't look like that.

I really would like Yamamuro to direct more episodes in DBS, he is indeed and still the best animator in the series
I mean look the example in this thread:
Easily the best animated episode in Super existence.

I really don't like the way he's been drawing noses and mouths in recent years, and I don't like the way he does the shading on the cheeks.
I can't speak about the actual animation (which to me is more important than just looking good anyway), since I haven't seen that episode in a very long time.

Episode 14 is the best animated episode in Super in my opinion. If not for those off model drawings. It would certainly look as Gold as Golden Freeza.Noah wrote:Easily the best animated episode in Super existence.
