There wasn't anyone else available to fuse. Gohan was just absorbed, Tenshinhan was out cold, and they needed Dende for the Dragon Balls. He didn't have much choice.

2. What choice did he have? What was he supposed to do, stand there and die?

He explained very clearly why he couldn't fuse with Dende. I see no reason to further elaborate.

He can't sense that far without someone strong enough for him to reach out to. Nobody on Kaioshin's planet was strong enough.

I mean, first time it appeared back in DB, there was a lot of senzu beans... Then, Yajirobi eated it like it was Doritos.
In DBZ in all major fights they have only 4 or 5 senzu beans. Thanks for that Yajirobi!

goku said he can't fuse with dende because he is not a warrior,doesn't that sound a stupid excuse? and the dragon balls? goku was going to fuse with satan,die and then meet his friends in the another world with satan's face,why would he care about dragon balls?

. i wonder where was goku going to teleport evebody when kid buu was attacking.

There's a lot of things that would be stupid, but the plot made it work out (Piccolo and Vegeta being allowed to live comes to mind). There are oversights by villains to progress the plot. So it needs to be something where the hero screwed up and it didn't magically work out.

Most of the Android arc:
-Goku not taking or having the medicine with him. You could potentially take out Gero before he activates 17 and 18.
-Krillin destroying the detonator
-Vegeta letting Cell absorb 18
-Goku not revealing his big plan with anybody

The point still stands. King Piccolo wished for his youth to be restored, yet Kami remained old. Eventually, Kami would have died of old age and King Piccolo would have gone with him.
What's sad is Piccolo knows if Kami dies, he dies. Yet, he did not take that into account when making that wish?
Kinda cuts his hypothetical rule short.

There were A TON of bad decisions made in handling Cell that were stupid and eventually led to him becoming perfect. Vegeta, Krillin, Trunks, 17, 18, and Goku are all guilty of making strange choices that combined to form a huge problem.
