Well by the time they actually get the rights to this thing and everything's in good standing order, one of us will probably be a movie producer. So there's hope yet. :Pcaejones wrote:Respectful, talented, and aware. Fortunately such people exist... *points to daizex*. But will they find them? ... I... can hope... but that's all...

That would be very cool. You should probably start recording all those ideas down so you don't forget them by the time (and if) you manage to get that position.DBZ MAN wrote:Oh trust me, I will make it finger lickin good. That is, if FOX or whoever's in charge lets you talk about it. The level of intelligence of Daizex makes it a good place to do research on both the hardcore fans and the mildly interested people who can't spell. (And... I spelled mildly wrong... :O). Of course as we've seen there are varying levels of optamism and such... but I'd think that discussing such a project at Daizex would be considered a very good research tactic. Or... maybe that's how I'd frame it if I was asking permission...

There will be things you can and cannot talk about I know that. Doing an interview where you choose is okay though (as long as you don't give anything away that will spoil big time).Acid_Reign wrote:That is, if FOX or whoever's in charge lets you talk about it. Ya, I'm sure it'll be as fantastic as the Lord of the Rings musical. >>ChibiKenji wrote:I'd be interested in seeing something like that, personally. It WOULDN'T be good, and that's the point. Ideally, it would be horribly odd and terribly cheesy with just the right dose of awfulness that allows it to pass bad and circle back to strangely entertaining.Jerseymilk wrote:Ya, I'm sure it'll be as fantastic as the Lord of the Rings musical. >>

Oh I understood how you meant it. That's what I meant too. Good in a "Lord of the Rings" musical kind of way. You know like a coming disaster that unfolds before your eyes, yet you just can't stop watching.ChibiKenji wrote:It WOULDN'T be good, and that's the point. I'm not familiar with the Lord of the Rings musical (though I'm now rather interested and plan on doing a bit of reading up on it), so I wasn't quite sure how to take your post; it would seem I misinterpreted you. My apologies.

Oh no worries. I really should have made it clearer. ^^' And the LOTR musical was out for about 10 seconds. That's how bad it was and I feel somewhat embarassed that Canada was involved. >>ChibiKenji wrote:Oh, I see.Jerseymilk wrote:Oh I understood how you meant it. That's what I meant too. I say what the hell, FOX. Make it. I'd probably watch it. And here's why they should do it, regardless of what anyone says about they shouldn't make it (and no, I'm not a selfish bastard, I have a good reason):
If you don't want it to happen, if you think it will be stupid, et cetera, then don't *extends left pinky-finger and starts tapping it with the other pinky as he says each thing* pay attention to it, learn who the cast is, watch it, buy it, or whatever. Because no one is making you do those things. They're obviously making the movie (if they indeed are) for people who want to watch it, obviously. If you don't want to watch it, ignore it! Don't click the links with discussions/news about it, change the channel when a commercial for it comes on, and so on.
I for one, support FOX on this one, and you should to, regardless of your standings on it. Think about it: It will give Dragon Ball another good amount of years of attention, which will influence companies (domestic and abroad) to release more merchandise for it, whether it be about the anime/manga or the movie. Especially considering 20th Century FOX is spear-heading the project.
