What a beautiful cover too, it alone is worth buying that V-Jump for.VegettoEX wrote:that's the actual cover of the April 2016 issue of V-Jump, which contains the manga chapter being discussed. That's also why you see other stuff being promoted on top of all the Dragon Ball stuff.

Re: Super's manga by Toyotarō
No Cold Skin is right guys. Goku will definitely turn SSJ Blue. It compelted replaced his original/golden Super Saiyan form. It only makes sense. We won't be seeing the yellow ssj form anymore. And if the Manga's new cover is anything to go by. It shows both Super Saiyan Blue Goku and Vegeta! Toyotaro's probably not going to ink in their hair every time Goku or Vegeta transforms.
Well anyway, It's great to know that Goku didn't get knock out in the first round! That's a huge relief. Seems i was worried this whole month for nothing. Seems Goku might lose against Frost now. But that's at least a little more acceptable than Goku losing in the first match. And i know they wanna give Vegeta AND MONAKA definitely aswell a chance to fight and show of their skills.

Re: Super's manga by Toyotarō
It's mistranslated. Apparently they are just surprised he can transform at all, not that he's using a different kind of Super Saiyan.Cold Skin wrote:Regardless of how it LOOKS, the fact that Champa and Vados basically say "this isn't a normal Super Saiyan look" could hint that it is Super Saiyan Blue.
Unless it's been mistranslated, it's hard to come up with an explanation for such a line otherwise, which is basically here to say "you don't see the colors, but we're telling you it's not the regular Super Saiyan, and from now on, you'll consider it blue everytime you see that even if there's no more grey on the black and white pages".
Re: Super's manga by Toyotarō
It's not SSJB. If it's not mistranslated, Champa and Vados are implying that the U6 saiyans have a different super saiyan transformation. If that's true, my bet is they have SSJB.Cold Skin wrote:Regardless of how it LOOKS, the fact that Champa and Vados basically say "this isn't a normal Super Saiyan look" could hint that it is Super Saiyan Blue.

But IF it turns out to be the regular Super Saiyan after all (meaning Champa and Vados reactions are not justified as they are right now), it will be the first time we get to see Goku as a Super Saiyan in his new costume.

Re: Super's manga by Toyotarō
Its obviously supersaiyan gold, supersaiyan blue has that shading type of shiz going on, ssj gold is pure white no shading whatsoever, unless you guys think Toyotarou ran out of ink lol
This is so refreshing in so many ways.... I literally thought normal SSJ was thrown out of existence because of the God ki, thank you Akira Toriyama.

Goku: Yeah, just like me.
- Goes Super Saiyajin.
Frost: !!
Champa: W-what!? He-he's a Saiyajin, right!?
Vados: ... It seems he's no ordinary Saiyajin.
EDIT: Oh, there already was a translation. Well, I'll leave mine as well. Just wanted to point out some mistakes because the 2ch text just says Goku turns Super Saiyajin (it's possible it could be Blue and the poster didn't know the difference, though) and Vados and Champa don't appear to be aware that Saiyajins can transform.
Re: Super's manga by Toyotarō
Right, then if it's a mistranslation, that makes more sense.
This means that there is hope for fans of the previous forms, who might see Super Saiyan 2 and 3 again if Goku wants to power up gradually like he does right now against Frost (although Toriyama said he didn't envision Goku using those again), even though Super Saiyan Blue should definately prevail against any previous form as the new iconic symbol of the franchise.

This is a tournament, not a death battle - in fact, Piccolo would be disqualified if he killed Frost, so that's entirely irrelevant.ChaosLordBrandon wrote:Are people forgetting the fact that Freeaza's race can almost survive anything? Piccolo could pierce frost in the head and he would still survive and just be defeated.
All he needs to do is force his opponent to step out of the ring somehow.
Re: Super's manga by Toyotarō
It makes sense based on what we know about the God form. The initial God form causes a color change. Once you have obtained its power it looks like your normal base. It's not a stretch to think that mastering the form at higher levels would also cause it to appear as the "normal" non-God form. We do know they have trained extensively since obtaining SSB so it could be like doing the Full Power Saiyan training to the point where its normalized.Cold Skin wrote:Right, then if it's a mistranslation, that makes more sense.

^ Given how the Super Saiyan Blue is heavily featured in artworks for Super (notably the Champa arc), they will not ditch it for the old-fashionned blond hair.
Goku likely has access to the weak Super Saiyan and to the awesome Super Saiyan Blue.

Re: Super's manga by Toyotarō
I'd be gobsmacked if it wasn't SSGSS/SSB. Given what we know of the form, it would make no sense for the narrative to not go down that route.
I guess, of course, it's possible that Goku choses to hold back an incredible amount, lose the match, and then let Piccolo fight a battle at a level that he can win at, because of, um, Goku-poison-logic?
It's most likely just a colouring inconsistency.

The text has been leaked, although it's not confirmed it is 100% real but I think it's safe to say it is.LuckyCat wrote:I can't wait until I get my hands on a (japanese) dialog version, but it's pretty safe to say Goku knew Frost could transform and asked him to.
Spoiler:
Also, we should remember that this fight will potentially be one episode-worth of time so they can't really cycle through all their transformations. Goku was already winning with the supposed Gold 1 so, if he still turns Blue, then Frost needs to have a further transformation for him to win and there's no time for that.
Maybe Toriyama wants Goku to showcase Gold, lose, and have Vegeta showcase Blue to further surprise the Universe 6 guys. We didn't see Cabba's reaction to Gold so we can't know if he knows something the others don't.

シャンパ「・・・いいぞ!フロストの方が勝っている」
ヴァドス「当然です 我が宇宙最強の拳闘士なんですよ」
Assuming this dialog's correct, Frost is U6's strongest fighter? I wonder if this means that fights after Frost won't be decided on strength alone.

Re: Super's manga by Toyotarō
Question is, how the heck will Piccolo vs Frost happen if Frost got forced to go final form from simply seeing ssj1. Willing to bet either like you said he gets a new form outtanowhere like GFreeza or Goku stupidly steps out of the ring for some random reason.alakazam^ wrote:The text has been leaked, although it's not confirmed it is 100% real but I think it's safe to say it is.LuckyCat wrote:I can't wait until I get my hands on a (japanese) dialog version, but it's pretty safe to say Goku knew Frost could transform and asked him to.
If they can switch between Gold and Blue it gets really cluttered. Base -> Gold 1 -> Gold 2 -> Gold 3 -> Base (God) -> BlueSpoiler:![]()

I did interpret it like you did but it's possible Vados is referring to their team as a whole.LuckyCat wrote:ヴァドス「当然です 我が宇宙最強の拳闘士なんですよ」

^ This probably the biggest indicator on whether you're hoping SSB will continue. Re: Super's manga by Toyotarō
Herms made a couple tweets. Botama's stamina doesn't go down unless he takes damage, and Frost is the best hand to hand combatant. Maybe he isn't the strongest thought.LuckyCat wrote:I see, alakazam^ wrote:The text has been leaked, although it's not confirmed it is 100% real but I think it's safe to say it is.

Why Dragon Ball Consistency in something such as power levels matter!
Spoiler:
Re: Super's manga by Toyotarō
I think that it's a common SSJ.
Otherwise Piccolo would not have a chance against Frost.

Re: Super's manga by Toyotarō
I don't think Piccolo will be able to win based on power anyway, unless Frost gets worn out. Goku in his base form is far above Piccolo. If Piccolo wins, he'd have to outsmart Frost (find a way to hit him with the Makankosappo or get him out of bounds).
