I've been doing some thinking on the Legendary Super Saiyan form. Come up with some backstory, and mechanics for it

The Legendary Super Saiyan form provides a substantial power boost. For reference, Broly in his first movie would be considered roughly equal to Cell. But more importantly, whilst in the form the user does not tire.

In every generation of sayians, there is a very small percentage of the population that if born with the potential to bear the power of a LSSJ. They can be told apart by their gentle dispositions. Even then, there can only be one person in existence bearing this power at a time. Certain magics can transfer this power to other compatible saiyans.

The LSSJ Saiyan comes with a natural bloodlust, an all consuming desire to murder and kill. This bloodlust can be controlled with proper training, like the Oozaru rage. In certain circumstances, it can progress into an outright split personality.

In T3, Broly's years of mindcontrols warped his bloodlust into a split personality, which he struggled to take control of. Eventually, Broly's LSSJ power and the split personality was stripped from him, and manifested into the body of a ghost warrior during a conflict with Dr. Raichi. Broly defeated his LSSJ double by becoming a Super Saiyan 2, and he's since lost the ability.

In T4, Paragus took Broly to Bardock when he was young, asking for help dealing with Broly's growing madness. Bardock learned of the history of the LSSJ, and convinced the mages of Planet Namek to transfer the power to another host. Gine, who was compatible, volunteered, and became an LSSJ. The Bloodlust overcame her temporarily, and Bardock was forced to fight her. Bardock eventually calmed her down, and the power was tranfered to Tarble instead. Tarble managed to rein in the bloodlust, and still bears the power to this day.

In T14, Ginyu proved to be a natural with the power, but he never bothered to train.

LSSJ is the gimmick that makes Broly who he is, taking that away from him makes him just another generic Super Saiyan.


T3: LSSJ is a mutation, it just can't be stripped away.
Broly walks between the paths of good and evil, sanity and insanity. The Mind control did develop a split personality. For whatever reasons that Cell, Ledgic, and Dabura decided to walk a different path, they subdued Broly and with training and patience, brought out the calmer personality to be the dominant form. He's mastered the SSJ and SSJ2 form without having to revert to LSSJ, but knows if he ever loses control, the evil personality will return, which is the equivalent of a SSJ4 in Power.

T4: LSSJ is a mutation, it cannot be transferred.
The Saiyans in this story may walk a different path but they're still Saiyans-If T4 Broly can't be controlled, then he should be neutralized.

T14: I'm fine with this. Ginyu isn't a Saiyan, he doesn't think like a Saiyan, this anomaly gives him ultimate control without the sacrifice. But of course he doesn't train.

I still don't like the idea of power being transferred. Especially to someone like Tarble. He doesn't even like violence, why would he volunteer for that, and why would he be able to control it.

And also go over T3's deal, because maybe you said it once, but I don't remember any mention of the old Kai. And the point of T3 Broly having access to LSSJ would be for drama. Heroes that have a Super Powered Evil Side. For example if Broly loses control, due to extreme anger or frustration, he unleashes the demon inside of him. And because he doesn't want to do that, he may not be able to fight as well as he could have in frustrating battles, providing drama. The character is better because he has an issue we know from the movies, but he's trying to control it, instead of his LSSJ being tossed, because he turned over a new leaf.

LSSJ already don't think like regular Saiyans. When they release their powers, they're like demons. In their base? What do you have in mind?

Tarble volunteers to take the power in T4 because even though Bardock was able to defeat the made Gine, he never once tried to kill her. He can't bring himself to kill the one he loves. So Tarble took the power into himself because he knew Bardock could kill HIM if the need arose. Fortunately, Tarble managed to control the bloodlust, meaning it wasn't necessary to kill him. As to why he could control it, it's less that he's special and more that the others had things holding them back. Broly is way too young for that kind of power, T3 Broly's mental developement was stunted by the mindcontrol, and Gine wanted to gain strength because she grew up as a weak Saiyan.

T3 did struggle with the LSSJ form initially, but he's dealt with it by the time the tournament takes place. His struggles will be shown in flashbacks throughout the story and through interactions throughout the story.

The sayians who can become LSSJ don't have the same lust for combat as normal sayians. They're more gentle and kind. This helps them balance out the bloodlust that comes with the LSSJ form, which is how they learn to control it.

I was sharing the backstory of our Saibamen with FoolsGil and was asked to post the backstory here:

It all started when Saiyan scientists in the bio-engineering department on Saiyan outpost planet wanted to create a way for Saibamen to be used in coordinated, large-scale military operations. King Vegeta approved of the project. The result was an "officer-type" Saibaman. By changing the formula for Saibamen by increasing the intelligence as well as giving the aesthetic look to differentiate it from rank & file Saibamen. It was during the stage of finding where the effective intelligence range that Tsukemono (though not named, yet) was born.
After completing the various tests by the scientists for data, Tsukemono sensed that at some point that his life would be terminated after his use came to an end. Thus, he always looked for a way to escape and kept observing the routines of his handlers. He bid his time by playing the fool. Out of a stroke fortune, space pirates attacked the facility and created the opening he needed. Tsukemono neutralized his handlers during the confusion and made a break for it. Along the way, he picked up growing formula and a large container of Saibamen seeds. By the time the space pirates were dealt with, Tsukemono disappeared without a trace. It was assumed he perished in the attack. Unfortunately for them, it was not the case....

They did not even see it or sense it coming. Without warning, the entire facility was overwhelmed by a massive, unheard-of Saibamen Horde. Tsukemono did indeed do what he was created for and commanded the Horde in a coordinated attack. The sheer shock of being outnumbered and outsmarted by Saibamen caused the Saiyan commanders to have a breakdown of communication. The writing was on the wall. The battle was not long, but every Saiyan personnel was dead at the end. The secret to the Saibamen victory was not only the element of surprise, but that the Saibamen discovered how to make spores. This means there were more Saibamen than there were from the seeds Tsukemono stole. It also helped that this occurred on the same day Freeza destroyed Planet Vegeta, so no Saiyan reinforcements ever came.

From here, Saibamen learned how to use the Attack Balls on the facility after Tsukemono taught them and began sending Saibamen to different planets.
The different soil on some of the planets not only lead to different levels of strength for newly grown Saibamen, but actually caused mutations to appear. Soon, different variants of Saibamen began to bolster the ranks. As the Horde grew, more planets fell under Tsukemono's tactical genius.

The next phase of the Saibaman Horde was the introduction of combat fighting styles. Until this point, Saibamen fought with their acid attacks and basic ki attacks as well as sheer numbers in their favor, but they began losing more battles when encountering highly trained fighting specialists. In response, Tsukemono began watching & studying the techniques used by their enemies. Soon, he began teaching his horde to emulate those who stood against them and stood a better chance in conquering them. They also learned how to sense ki. It was during this time, the Saibaman language became more sophisticated with a written language and communicated via a Morse code-like sign language. It was here that the Saibamen began establishing individual identities.

Among the planets that fell to the Horde were Namek and Yardrat at this point. Tsukemono managed to figure out Instant Transmission on Yardrat and figured out how to translate the Namekian written language to Saibamen written language. From here, the horde learned of the Dragon Balls. Tsukemono felt he was reaching the end of his mortal coil and made a deal with the Namekians: Use the Dragon Balls to give Tsukemono eternal youth and the Horde will leave in peace and the Namekians can use the Dragon Balls to restore the lives lost during the invasion of Namek. For the third wish, Tsukemono suggested a wish that only the gods could set foot on Namek from now on. The deal was struck and promises were kept. Now, no one but the gods can visit Namek (the Namekians are still there, though).

The Saibamen-Freeza War was the next event. The Assassination of King Cold by the orange fiend, Uekuma, brought attention to both Freeza and Cooler, who resolved to eradicate the Horde. It was long, grueling and casualties mounted on both sides. The turning point came when Cooler & his Armored Squadron fell in battle, causing those still loyal to the late King Cold's Empire to become demoralized. The eventual showdown resulted in Tsukemono defeating Captain Ginyu, who had heard legends of the Legendary Super Saibaman and his horde. His top lieutenants, Uekuma, Kakuren, and Nawamuto savaged notable fighters such as Raditz, Nappa, Vegeta, Dodoria, Zarbon, Recoome, Guldo, Jeice, & Burter. When it seemed Freeza was going to destroy his own headquarter planet than see it fall to the Horde, the emperor was dragged into a long, drawn out brawl with Tsukemono. Freeza tried every trick in the book, but the tyrant was felled when Tsukemono broke his neck. The war was over.

The Horde continued to conquer more planets and colonize them and was turning their attention toward a small planet in the Northern Galaxy called Earth when the invitation to the tournament arrived.

Timeline Seven: Tuffle Empire

We may never know the truth of how or why the Saiyans and the Tuffles gone to war, but we know that for T7, the Tuffles finished off the Saiyans before the moon rose on Planet Plant in Age 730, the day that the Tuffles would have been destroyed in other timelines. members of the PTO were watching the civil war and like they did with the Saiyans in other timelines, they offered the Tuffles a job in the PTO. The Tuffle King agreed for Tuffles to join, but upon spending a single hour with Freeza, knew they needed to get out from under Freeza's thumb. As they were placed logistics and manufacturing, the Tuffles were ignored-big mistake, as they were free to gather information about the PTO past and present.

After 5 years in service of Freeza the Tuffles struck. They planted viruses into the computers and tech they've installed years ago, and allowed them to wreak havoc and mayhem on the 5th anniversary of the victory against the Saiyans. Freeza Planets went dark. The electronics on the ships were brought down, allowing Tuffle weaponry to destroy the ships or force the PTO solders to abandon the ship. Freeza's main ship was set to explode the middle of a galaxy that had dead planets. Freeza survived and could breathe in space, but even he would not have the energy or power to venture hundreds of thousands of light years to exact his revenge. After a month of drifting, The Tuffles went for the dazed and weakened Freeza, and destroyed him in an armada of laser fire.

The PTO afterwards went from committing genocide to sell planets, to general enslavement of all life, which was done with their superior firepower and weaponry. There were successes, like In 740 when the Tuffle King's 8 year old son Bebi brought planet Earth into the Tuffle Empire. However,there were unforseen issues as well: King Kold investigated the disappearance of his son, and made his presence known by attacking the Tuffle Enslaved planets. Plenty of Freeza's former solders who survived the Tuffle takeover instantly defected upon finding out about Kold. The Tuffles shortly in their reign destroyed the Galactic Patrol, but Jaco ended up escaping. With Tights, and later Bulma, Jaco started gathering up allies that soon became the Galactic Federation, a constant thorn. By the time Whis and the Supreme Kai came to the universe for the tournament, each of the three groups owned a third of the entire universe, and have been waging a civil war over the past 30 years.

Just had a bit of a brainstorm.

I think we should have Doctor Gero vs. Uekuma take place after Mecha Goku vs. 13. This would mean Gero faces Mecha Goku in Round two. Mecha Goku could win in that fight, leading to a battle with 16 in the finals, one with more stakes.

I also had an idea for a character moment after Gero and Uekuma's fight. Uekuma winds up crippled after the fight, and his allies react by killing and consuming them. This makes the other fighters think of them as monsters, but later one of the fighters speaks with them, and learns that it's actually a part of their culture. Saibamen detest leaving corpses, so their version of a funeral is being eaten by living Saibaman, under the belief that part of their spirits will live on inside their comrades
