Very good to have another video game themed episode.

I love Jump Ultimate Stars. I agree about the quiz, i hate when i use like 400 gems on a freaking quiz i cant even understand. The most i manage to get right is like 3 questions. I love the jingle that is played during the opening movies and the opening movies them self are very good.

I don't really like any Dragon Ball fight characters in this game but i agree that 3 koma Trunks are really good. I use a Don Patch X Luffy team. I never really tried Sanji.

I think you really over-exaggerate about the online tough. Sure, many Japanese people like to use cowardish methods such as hiding in a corner but they doesn't usually gang up on people with English names. I think you just got a bad first impression of the online. It can be really fun and it's a great way to get gems and to have fun at the same time.

As for the rest of the podcast, i agree most of Falconers stuff is pretty forgettable but he does have some good pieces. The SSJ3 transformation music is really good and the music that plays when Super Buu travels to Kami's palace is also very good. I'm hoping you will have a top 5 and an ABC list soon and I'm looking forward to the new segment, good podcast! :)

Nice podcast! I might just buy Ultimate Stars for the sake of getting at least one JP game for my DS. Ah, I can imagine Mike looking on in shock at his DS screen as the three Japanese guys stand around and all get first place. That's pretty messed up.

I also pre-ordered from amazon, so yeah, I haven't gotten my DBZ Season 1 cropped badness thing yet. I'm looking forward to your (as well as Corey's) own comments on the set after dissecting it :D.

EDIT:  Mike doesn't know what a shipper is? I guess all the rules for this forum cleared the area of those kinds of fans (thankfully).

Nope, I've *never* heard of this phrase before in my life. I'm not into that kind of thing. It absolutely confounds me. I can't imagine being so into a couple that doesn't exist. I mean, sure... if there's sexual tension and stuff between characters, that's great and all...

But just making up couples because you say so? Uhhh.... O...K...

As I've noted time and time again, I just don't like/get fanfiction :D.

No, no... not at all. I've mostly been annoyed that I end up pushing back the episode, and therefore the review isn't quite as relevant and timely as it could have been a few weeks back :). I really hope my opinion shines through that yes, the game has some faults... but the fun-factor, and more importantly the REPLAY VALUE... shines through and allows the game to... err... shine!

Yeah, I whore out Don Patch, as well. His 8-koma's special is pretty damn awesomely powerful and huge. Definitely throw Sanji into your mix... I love the way he plays.

I actually told my brother about the wi-fi story and he's the "ZOMG AM I RIGHT !" mode. :P Seeing how my game is basically finished (after a certain amount of time played, the timer stops), I went for the quiz mode today. For the quiz mode, I just act like I know what I'm doing when I try it (proudly holds his title with four questions answered correctly).

I just wanted to point out another reason why regular wi-fi is annoying and that is because everyone picks the same characters! Off the top of my head, everyone whores Sanji, Zoro, Luffy, Kazuki, characters from Hitman Reborn!, uh, that piece of crap Jaguar I believe... *rant*

*As for the actual podcast, I had to download the file from the site this time around. The copy that I usually get from Itunes just froze (when in my ipod), it was pretty weird. It's description still reads "FUNimation's lies...":? My currect record is 693 fights with 517 wins. I blame every single loss on shenanigans and cases of bull-flop; there I said it.

Definitely sounds interesting. One thing I was really impressed with, thanks to a certain site, was the spritework for this game. The sheets they used for this game look BEAUTIFUL. I noticed the ones for the OP and Naruto characters look like upgraded versions of the sprites used for their respective games, too. Nice job on the review to you and Castor.

Hm...I almost wanna say the subject of the next episode might be derived from an e-mail I sent a while back, but I tend to be wrong most of them time when theorizing things as far as the mailbag segment goes.

I don't even see #0062 listed in the iTunes store's directory. Where on Earth are you people seeing this? Furthermore, if you're having this problem, are you subscribed to the show?

I subscribe the podcast and every three days or day I'm not sure, it updates podcasts that I do have a subscription to. You know how if you have the podcast, you can reach it by going to the "Music" menu in your ipod? Well, when I go to Episode 62, it doesn't play. But if I go to the file that I personally downloaded, I go to "Daizenshuu EX" under Artists and it works from there. It's pretty weird and seems like I have whatever version of Itunes that the screen cap was from. :?

I had never given this game much thought, but after listening to the podcast, I'm sold. I'm importing it first chance I get.

But I'm pretty much 100% illiterate in Japanese. I know you guys can't read it either, and since it's a fighting game, I doubt you need to know it. But before I drop 50 bucks on it, should I know at least some Japanese to be able to enjoy this game? Or do I need to learn a thing or two first?

Heh, I've formed a Dragon Ball villians deck just like Mike. Though I don't use it anymore (maybe because I don't use Freeza a lot). My current main character is (you guessed it) Majin Buu but I'm currently trying to impliment Dio Brando into that as well. I'm also good with Raoh, Vegetto, Caramelman J, Sasuke, and Kenshin.

I think it's interesting that Mike said he likes to use 3 koma Trunks since at least on Gamefaqs he's one on the 3 controversial "broken" koma everyone hates since they're so useful.

And personally, I'd love to hear you guys rip on the dub stuff.

You too? I was telling Lord Moonstone about my common deck called "Pure Malice". If you've played me online, you've definitely seen it. It has Freeza and Buu with their actual help komas and Jiraiya, who gives you one special gauge. The best part is every character is evil, including Mr.Satan who is equiped to Buu! :o(You guys could use this deck if you want, I'm still 'the' pwnage)

You're going to be a poor impoverished individual if you go after those Dragon Boxes. I know you're asking Mike, but if you are 16 and lacking a credit card...collecting the Dragon Boxes is going to be a tad difficult and a tad...expensive.

I'm asking Mike because he's the only one who really seems to know what he's talking about. :P

Haha, nice Podcast guys! Meri, I know how it feels for people to make corny jokes at your name, mine's Bert... ('-_-)> Also, I played Rick on Wi-Fi (he owned me), but I tried the mic, but he said (online) that he couldn't hear me because of background noise.

Yeah there's that, but who were they in the DBZ Community. It sounds so familiar but I can't place who it was.

He used to run a Brian Drummond fan page in the late 90s-early 2000s.
