Updated the main post. Considering the supervisors clearly had no time to do anything resembling corrections, I picked out the scenes that were clearly drawn by Kitano or Toma. May not be the best representation of the episode as a whole, but eh. Felt like I was just pulling out blurry inbetweens otherwise.

I loved this shot:

I wish there was more stuff like this in Super.

At this point I feel like Morishita is already planning to remake the arc as a movie.

It's sad to see what they're doing with our favorite franchise. It's just sad.

I kind of assumed that the absurd pacing was either
1. Toei not wanting anything to do with fighting episodes
2. An experiment to see if they could cram all of this content into a film.

Right now, it feels like it may be both.

The pacing is fine. If the animation was better the fights would be more entertaining but the scripts have been greatso far.

I agree on the scripts, but I don't know. It feels just a little too quick for me. It's a tournament, so I admit it is a bit more understandable for it to be faster. It's an odd combination of refreshing and bizarre to get through as much as this episode did.

I didn't think the episode looked too awful, it was certainly far from the worst looking in Super and seemed pretty on par with a normal Z episode.

There are Z episodes that look a lot worse.

I would understand the bitching if it was episode 24-25 tier, but it wasn't that freaking bad.

The fighting episodes need more production time and Super just don't have that, unfortunately.

It's not that the episode "looked" bad necessarily to me. It just felt so off. Goku vs. Frost had some good bits, I won't deny that. However I just couldn't shake the feeling that it felt so uninspired. That stiff arm ki blast spam that always triggered me when I saw it in the 'F' arc even returned in this episode.

From a story standpoint, it's fine. I think Frost seems pretty cool and I'm glad King Ryu is here.

I guess I'm just worried. The NEP didn't look much better and it's not a good thing that drawings with a completely redesigned Kuririn had to be scrapped. That's a shame because things were looking up for Super.

I'll probably get over it. Piccolo vs. Frost looks cool content wise at least.

Although this isn't really animation-related, I am hating the color palette right now.

Felt like there was zero impact or speed to the fights in episode 33. A real shame.

It's pretty sad considering most of the tournament is going to be like this, and I agree that stiff ki blast arm bothered me a lot.

Thumbs up! I think people are finding Super worse than the worst parts of the series before it simply because they are not used to the new (albeit shitty) art-style and so can pick up on the discrepancies a lot easier.

Even looking the most monotonous filler episodes, designed by Uchiyama, I'was never much bored, as in this episode.

Super it is confirmed to be gag story with the fighting, while the DB manga was a story centered on the fighting, with gag.

Z has much worse episodes than this. I watch Z everyday, it's my favorite series.

No, because the thing, here, is subjective
