Electronic Circuschibi_goten wrote:I liked the *something circus* music. Ya' know, the music when Gero and #19 first come out and blow up the island. It just sounds crazy. I also like the *Super Buu* track. I think it goes really well, it's just so cool when he's fighting Gotenks and that tracks playing.

Ah yeah, I remember that. It first popped up on the 'Garlic Jr.' VHS releases. The community was buzzing about it, thinking that FUNimation had gone back to the drawing board on a few levels (Trunks' voice seemed natural, the music wasn't as grating, etc).Kendamu wrote:I liked the dub music for the Trunks VHS/DVD preview. Actually, I think the preview itself was on the VHS version before the episodes actually started.
...then the actual release came out. Ouch.

Some of them are really good, but a lot of them just sound the same, and Bruce Faulconer he's they guy that did some of the music for Dragonball Z, well the dub anyways.JAPPO wrote:He could have done a better job on some, though.
Edit: Sorry didn't see the wink untill afterwards.

I may deserve to get reamed for this but I actually like most of the themes. Not as much as the original BGM, but they're okay by me. Some of them get on my last nerve, though.
My favorites would have to be Goku and Kai Face Off, Hyperbolic Time Chamber, Trunks Appears, King Cold, Perfect Cell Theme, and Demon Mist.

Without a doubt, "Ginyu Transformation/End Of Cell" was the best bit of music the dub ever had, especially since he was very careful to use it sparingly so it had a lot of impact when it did show up. I honestly think that the whole End Of Cell sequence (Kamehameha duel, etc.) was possibly the sole time the dub was better than the original. The music and voice acting just cranked up to top notch.
And promptly dropped back down again, but oh well.
(Trivia: If Cartoon Network hadn't wasted the day showing holiday cartoons instead, Cell's death would have first aired on Christmas Day. That would have been oh-so-appropriate)
Also, the main Cell theme was good, especially the Perfect variation (as was the voice; Dameon Clarke was good as Cell, but INCREDIBLE as Perfect and Super Perfect Cell).

I found a couple of videos made by a Faulconer fan composed of what he thinks is the best of Faulconer. There's several songs featured per video. I like everything in these videos, and they have convinced me to buy some of the Faulconer CDs. The videos can be found here and here. My favorite song is the song that play in the second video before and as Gohan loses it and goes SSJ2 for the first time.

I actually like most of Faulconer's Songs. I own all the dbz soundtracks that Faulconer composed.
My particular favorites are Vegeta's theme, Vegetas Vision, Goku Spirit bomb, Ginyu force theme and Perfect Cell theme.
Some songs are particular hard to listen too for the sake that they are just weird like the previously mentioned Electronic Circus. Everyone has their own taste in music.

What is the song played at the VERY end of the instrumental part II video?
I like the begining of Bulma and the Frog but the rest of the tune just doesn't need to be there. The tune that was used as the opening for the Garlic Jr Saga (The CD/iTunes calls it Dragonball Z) was rather catchy too.
I like Faulconer's music as music rather than as Dragonball music.

Same here. I like it as music, but not as Dragon Ball music. It works for the dub in my opinion, and in Legacy of Goku II, but it would never work for the Japanese version.Gaiash wrote:I like the begining of Bulma and the Frog but the rest of the tune just doesn't need to be there.
