Chou comes before so it can't be called that.kinisking wrote:So do you guys have a problem with super saiyan chou? Or just super super saiyan
I assumed that was a typo, that's why I didn't mention it. I think they either forgot to add brackets or they got confused on whether to usa katakana or kanji for "Super" and ended up using both.

Dang that's a pity lol. I'm hoping that it's a typo like you thinkalakazam^ wrote:Chou comes before so it can't be called that.kinisking wrote:So do you guys have a problem with super saiyan chou? Or just super super saiyan

Those were hardly good episodes. Additionally, series naturally become worse over time due to production catching up and staff leaving or being otherwise unavailable. We've seen through the leaked key animation drawings not used in episodes that someone is making last-second changes to the series which will also terribly mess up the production.Kakarotto92 wrote:If that's the case, then I honestly don't get how Toei managed to make the SSJG Goku vs Beerus fight last for 5 episodes plus with decent animation (at least for Super standards).
Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
I wonder who it is that's making those last-second changes. Would it be one person, or multiple people doing that?JulieYBM wrote:Those were hardly good episodes. It certainly has to be someone high-up there in the hierarchy. I doubt it would be either Chioka or Hatano, neither of them have ever nuked a project. I'm not sure Toriyama would make last-minute demands that require scrapping finished key animation. He's mostly left things alone and never really offered any specific ideas past a script and initial designs. The Toei Animation producer in charge of Planning (the role above 'producer') is Morishita Kouzou, the longtime producer of the animated franchise and the chairman of Toei Animation. Then again, it could be Producer Kidou Atsushi...but the role of producer is typically left to those who are tasked with supporting the series director in turning his vision into reality.Chuquita wrote:I wonder who it is that's making those last-second changes. Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
Many thanks. Would you know if either of them have a history with last-minute-changes? Maybe on other projects they've done? I looked them both up on ANN, but nothing on either of their pages there gives any clues that I can see given what knowledge about them I currently have.JulieYBM wrote:It certainly has to be someone high-up there in the hierarchy. I don't know of anyone having history of doing that sort of thing. The unused key animation and the change in character designs certainly point to something happening, though.Chuquita wrote:Many thanks. Yeah, those magazine summaries are often so full of inconsistencies and nonsense that i don't think anything should be discussed seriously before the episodes air.alakazam^ wrote:I think they either forgot to add brackets or they got confused on whether to usa katakana or kanji for "Super" and ended up using both.
Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
So a new transformation or they are renaming the Blue SSj again ? I think Chou Super Saiyan sounds better than Super Saiyan Blue or Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan.

I don't know why they wouldn't just use Super Saiyan Blue, but Chou Super Saiyan/Super Saiyan Chou isn't bad.
If this is what they call it they better not translate the Chou in the English version...

Yeah, I hope that's the case, too. Because Super Super Saiyan just sounds fucking stupid.ArchedThunder wrote:I don't know why they wouldn't just use Super Saiyan Blue, but Chou Super Saiyan/Super Saiyan Chou isn't bad.

Anyone noticed that they finally showed some blood in the NEP ? This is the first time ever since some flashbacks and episode 4.Unless of course, that's the poison that Frost used.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves, it could easily just be a mistake, as how you write it usually has Chou in Kanji above Super Saiyan, as has already been stated in this thread.Noah wrote:On-topic: Damn what dumb name is this CSSJ (Chou Super Saiyan) thing, for godness sake, it is dumber than SSJB. Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan is a description, and, at best, a cumbersome title. At worst, however, it's a terrible name - especially from a branding perspective.
Super Saiyan Blue was sort of fun and quirky, but again, it seems more like Toyotaro was just poking fun at the whole thing in retrospect, given that it hasn't been adopted anywhere else apart from in the pages of his manga where he put in the gag.
The cynic in me says that the former is the title that Toriyama gave them, and the latter was Bandai venting dissatisfaction with it and trying to introduce something different to the fans to see if it stuck. Apparently it hasn't, so they've probably just held off by not referring to it as anything in the anime for the time being to give themselves time to figure out what the heck they're going to do.
It's the indecision that's most vexing, and frankly, I'll take anything right now so long as they actually show some consistency and stick with it henceforth.
