Sketchy sketch. About 10 minutes or so.

I've spent my entire life drawing Vegeta, but never really taught myself to draw Goku. Been trying to fix that recently.

Here's something I made in 10 minutes:

Drawing is weird. As you're drawing something you say to yourself "hey, this is coming out pretty well!" and then once you've finished you look at your illustration and go "...Oh jeez. What the fuck happened? It looks like ass." That's how I felt with this illustration- but hey! 10 minutes!

Haha, ain't that the truth! I woke up this morning, looked at what I'd posted and cringed a bit.

Looking good! I really need to learn to draw bodies properly. I tend to just scribble out faces and give up.

Case in point, here's my second attempt at Goku:



Possibly over the boundary of a sketch. Took about 30 minutes, and kinda used it as an opportunity to try out shading with the light coming from another direction.

I can do stern faces okay from drawing Vegeta for so long. I really need some pointers on happy Goku. The sketch I posted yesterday was significantly worse than this and I blame that entirely on the face (well, the hair too, but I knew I fucked that up).

When I have a good amount of time I can make some decent illustrations. Here's Perfect Cell (in colour!) done in I think around 45-60 minutes.

I've always found Cell a lot of fun to draw... even if drawing and colouring his spots is the most annoying thing in the universe

Did this in the time I had before my first class today, took me somewhere between 5 to 10 minutes. when I scanned it in it was too hard to see so in post I darkened the lines but due to drawing on line paper it did the same, so I went and erased the lines that didn't effect the drawing.
