Adobe Premiere Alternative?

Post by Thanos » Thu Feb 01, 2007 5:02 am

Is there any free video-editing software, similiar to Adobe Premiere, that's free? I really, really want to edit video files like Premiere does, but I have exactly no money. I want something free that's relatively useful. If anyone knows of anything, please, tell me!

Feel like installing Linux? If not... then no, not really :).

Unfortunately, there's pretty much nothing out there that's good and free, but if you want something that's both good and relatively cheap, I'd reccomend Sony Vegas. It's retailing for $90 (definitely worth saving up for), but you can download a 30-day trial version here at the Sony site. I did, and I fell in love with the program. I'm gonna be buying it myself soon.

Short answer: no.

Long answer: no, not legally.

As for linux, I've used a number of distributions but never encountered an Adobe Premiere alternative... maybe I wasn't looking.
If challenge had a taste, you'd be quite delicious.

I'm admittedly a Linux novice, but I could have sworn I looked into this and found that the Linux video programs were kinda thin and required outrageous hardware.

Haha, it's free and gets the job done. In a much crappier fashion than Photoshop.

I'm not having too much trouble with WMM, and this is coming from someone who never made an AMV before and is attempting to make one for the first time.
