"Dragon Ball Super" Series Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
Thanks Alakazam. You do great work here. So, with World trigger ending what are the chances of staff coming from there to help Super? I heard this episode ( or was it the next one) already had a notable member from that series.

I made a bet with Alee9977 that Vegeta won't be beaten quickly by an opponent. If I lose, I switch my avatar to Vegeta getting beat by hit. If I win, he switches it to Vegeta holding Black by his hair. This will last a month.

The list of people who worked on this episode of Super and have worked on World Trigger: Toubousha Hen are as key animators: Kato Yoshitaka, Matsumoto Katsuji, Studio Myu. As Episode director, Karasawa Kazuyakinisking wrote:Thanks Alakazam. You do great work here. So, with World trigger ending what are the chances of staff coming from there to help Super? So what do you think the chances are of this happening more often? With more animators they could do more work in less time.Sodhi wrote:The list of people who worked on this episode of Super and have worked on World Trigger: Toubousha Hen are as key animators: Kato Yoshitaka, Matsumoto Katsuji, Studio Myu. Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
The way key animation work is that, for a certain episode a certain amount of key animators are chosen, does not matter if 100 are available not all will work on a episode. The good key animators are saved for more important episodes to give them more time to work for that episode. Bunch of bad or inexperienced key animators like this episode had will make a 0% difference in quality of Super. The only noteworthy person we have from world trigger so far is the episode director, Karasawa Kazuya, he is a talented director.kinisking wrote: So what do you think the chances are of this happening more often? Unless Tomita Yoshikazu returns to One Piece or PreCure he will also be potentially available to join Dragon Ball Super. My hope is that--if World Trigger truly is ending--then Koizumi Noboru will return to Dragon Ball with his wife Izumi Kyoko. They've tackled a few of the best episodes of World Trigger alone. Koizumi was once an animation supervisor for Dragon Ball GT, too.
Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
Did I miss something? Didn't Tomita literally animate the key part of yesterday's episode? (I'm still like 20 episodes behind, so no spoilers, but I'm just going by what I was told on Twitter earlier)JulieYBM wrote:Unless Tomita Yoshikazu returns to One Piece or PreCure he will also be potentially available to join Dragon Ball Super. He did, but he also has a long, long history with World Trigger, so I'm not sure if we can say he's joining up with One Piece for the foreseeable future or not.Ajay wrote:Did I miss something? Guh, that makes me so conflicted. His work in One Piece is always amazing, but Super could do with some more talent. I just don't want it to be wasted.JulieYBM wrote:He did, but he also has a long, long history with World Trigger, so I'm not sure if we can say he's joining up with One Piece for the foreseeable future or not.
Thinks about Tomita drawing Bulma

Well, there's always the chance he goes to give Oobari a hand.

World trigger & OP are the only series he's been consistently working on for a while. He's only worked on Precure once in the last decade. Can't imagine that'd change any time soon.JulieYBM wrote:He did, but he also has a long, long history with World Trigger, so I'm not sure if we can say he's joining up with One Piece for the foreseeable future or not.Ajay wrote:Did I miss something? It looked like he had a lot of time to work on his latest scene even though it's only been seven episodes since his last one. It was the best I've seen from him in a while.
I wonder what Dragon ball what look like in his style.

I fail to see how this is relevant to Super. Super's keyframes are hand-drawn so it's not really like they need this.Sodhi wrote:Animation software used by Studio Ghibli is going open source

I tend not to post here anymore because what I say doesn't add to the conversation.
Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
and where I said this was relevant to Super?, it's just a discussion as in thread's name. Plus every animation product out there needs a computer software dont know what you mean by your second sentence, you are not wrong, but i fail to see what that has to do with using a software?ThatGuyNamedChancey wrote:I fail to see how this is relevant to Super. Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
I think he's just confused, much like I am, about how a particular piece of animation software going open-source has anything to do with a general discussion of Super. If it were the same product used by Toei, I'd understand, but it's not.

Sorry if I'm late, but Toonami Asia tweeted today about when they're aiming to release their dub: https://twitter.com/ToonamiAsia/status/ ... 0943182848
Edit: Looks like it was about fifteen minutes ago. Huh.

I really wonder who is going to provide the dubbed voices for Super on Toonami Asia, since FUNimation have already confirmed they're not doing so.OmegaRockman wrote:Sorry if I'm late, but Toonami Asia tweeted today about when they're aiming to release their dub: https://twitter.com/ToonamiAsia/status/ ... 0943182848

Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
It would be interesting to watch Super with another English voice cast that is not from Funimation.

Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
Ain't it about time Funimation came out with something? Don't they have to release Kai 2 first before doing Super and they haven't even got started on that yet.
