Wow, I really, really like how the original Japanese score sounds with the dub. I may pick this up if I spot it somewhere...

Three-eyed people huh? That is absurd lmao.

I'm pretty sure he is human, but he learned to spawn an extra eye, just like how he trained to be able to sprout arms from his back.

About that Tenshinhan bio scan, major props to FUNimation for giving credit to the Japanese voice cast in their booklet. Damn, they were really trying to appeal to hardcore fans this time.

Although, major non-props for the "three-eyed people" line, in addition to calling Masenko the ever-annoying "Masenko-Ha" in Piccolo's bio.

What surprises me is that FUNimation was able to dish out so much amazing artwork for the inside of their booklet, but slapped the worst image in their gallery on the cover of the frikkin' boxset.

Anyway, thanks for the screencaps and the audio clip, Tanooki. The English dub with the Japanese music is so pleasing to the ears. It just feels.... right. I still want to wait for a fullscreen set to buy, but it is getting really hard not to want this thing....

Must...... resist........ buying......

Here's an audio clip from Lesson Number One, it contains the first Kaio Ken demonstration and leads to Nappa's death, it's 5 1/2 minutes long.

Thanks for the stuffage Tanooki :o!

Hm, the character profiles booklet looks nicely made, but I can see from the "three-eyed people" thing that the actual content isn't very impressive...let alone accurate. The audio clip was awesome, and I personally am really happy to hear the Daizex podcast opening theme recape track with Kyle's "ON THE LAST EXCITING EPISODE" at the same time. So I can tell that'll be pretty enjoyable. Also, from the screencaps you've taken, I'm gonna be honest again...I don't think I'm gonna be bothered too much by the widescreen formatting.

Lookin' forward to the video clip, EGX.

Yowza, that acting was painful. But yeah, nice to see it with the JPN BGM.

Gohan looks weird on that first scan.

Dare I say it's one of the best work by funimation yet. The widecreen really isn't any problem at all. I love it. Flame if you want but I'm very pleased with how it looks and I hope funi does the same with the rest of the series.

I too will probably buy the whole series on these releases. Hell, for the great sound alone.

Omg... the sound is fuckin' amazing!

But the half-assed packaging and booklet, "Rebirth" feature, and widescreen still kill the set for me...

I'm going to support getting this in full screen, no matter how good it sounds, it was still mastered, and released very badly...

Either way about the packaging though, it doesn't matter when it will be done in full screen, but I'm just still stating, that it sucks anyways lol.

Heh, somehow I knew you hadn't "properly converted." But oh well; to each his own. I'll agree that this may possibly be FUNi's best release yet, but it still isn't DBZ in its entirety no matter which way you spin it. I already wasn't going to buy it, but frankly the blunders in Vejita's thread are enough to keep me from re-considering.

For some reason, the sound mixing doesn't seem right to me since the dub voices are much louder than the japanese bgm...

This is what the dub should have been from the beginning, thanks for the clips!

Man, the dub grunting is overdone... :?
