I peed my pants.

The dub voices on top of my favorite all-time BGM in DBZ. Oh damn, that's sexiness.
TMI.

But yes, it's much better than what I expected.
If challenge had a taste, you'd be quite delicious.

Well, Thanos, as to your request to hear Mr. Hebert's narration over the prologue and recap music, there's a link to an instance of that on the first page. It's just the audio, yeah, but I'm guessing that was all you wanted to check on anyway, right? ^^;
Art, etc. links taken down for now. Will be updated at some point. I dunno.

I posted a reply to that clueless Amazon customer. I'm almost hoping he'll get into a debate with me, because a cookie-cutter argument could trump this guy, and the public is confused enough without his drivel polluting the internet.

I see I'm not the only one though, which is rather refreshing.

This is what the dub should have been from the beginning, thanks for the clips!

Man, the dub grunting is overdone... :?

I agree that they definitely could have cranked up the levels on the japanese bgm relative to the dub.

Hearing the japanese bgm with the dub makes the dub fairly tolerable (hearing the dub and Faulconer's nonsense always felt really.. gimmicky to me).

Thanks a lot for the audio / video clips!

All things about the set considered.. I'll still wait for the next release down the road, and in the meantime send FUNi some mail.
I actually LIKE faulconer's music and would have liked it in 5.1 as well.

I like the dub better than the Japanese version, because Goku's voice is annoying in the Japanese version. Flame me if you must, but it's just my PERSONAL PREFERENCE.
i aggree, and i am also liking the footage posted from the set.

i was hoping for faulcnor's dub to be in 5.1 aswell.

now, I'm mostly dissapointed with the scratches and dirt, that appears to still be there, or has popped up during the remastering process.

everything else, i actualy like.

Strange. I found the awesome BGM to only exlampify and point out just how bad the english voice acting can get. Good music doesn't get Nappa's horrid voice out of my head, nor the abundane of unnecessary grunts, nor the mis-pronounciations, nor the bad script writing.

But that's just my personal preference.

Just watched the two clips this morning. I can certainly tell that Sean and Chris were thinking "guys...we've done this before...like, five times..." while they were recording. Despite that, I think I'll be able to enjoy this set for what it is. If FUNimation has a change of heart after the haul of letters from Corey's project, I'll probably pick up the newer sets in that format, but if not, I think I'll be just fine with these.

I totally agree to such a magnitude that it cannot be fully expressed in words.

Wow, I thought it made it made it better, almost like a real dub. Oh well nothing against you hating it. I guess you'd have to at least like the dub a little in order for the BGM to enhance what little you liked about it.

Heh, I got the "cinematic" vibe, but it felt like watching something in the 60's, like a Godzilla movie. That's just me though.
Although, only slightly more, I did notice that your screenshots seem to have slightly higher clarity than the ones in the other topic. Is that just me or did you use a special program or something?
But yeah, the 1st audio clip with the narration made me kind of sceptical about the combination of the English dub and Japanese music, but the video clips were really good (and the 2nd audio clip was also better), so maybe I just have issues with the narrator.
Anyways, looking good overall, gonna pick it up myself soon after seeing some scenes in motion.

Do you mean my screenshots? No, I didnt do anything to them. I used "VLC Media Player" to take the screen shots.

Yea I agree I didnt like the narrator bits with the original BGM, but the actual episode content sounded much better with the original BGM and the Funi dub.

Oh! Oh! Can I be in your group too? :D

Watching the clip actually made me miss the Ocean voices as well. >>

The grain, hairs and other artefacts wouldn't be such a big deal if FUNI hadn't raved so much about 'painstaking remastering' and 'frame by frame'.

I may have even bought this box set if FUNI hadn't spun so much BS in their advertising campaign. If they had just come clean and admitted to cropping it, I could have probably forgiven that.

If we don't get a 4:3 release in the future, I'm certainly not going to lose sleep over it. There's still the R2 singles to buy at least. As for FUNI...there's always plan B. http://img162.imageshack.us/img162/7783/funidi0.png

I agree with you on this one, Tanooki. However, I know that I can switch to Japanese at any point if the voices get on my nerves (or if I just feel like watching it in Japanese) and I'm more of a music guy than a vocal guy, anyway.

Some Friend: "Geez! These voices and dialouges are shit!"
Kendamu: "Shut the fuck up! I'm listening to the music!"

Since everyone's been talking about how bad it is, could you post a picture of the Dragon Ball timeline included with the set?
