I think that kind of battle would get very boring, very quickly, I also doubt animators would put any effort into a planet's background if that planet was just there to be blown up due to a battle. I also don't think such a fight would really do anything other then be destruction porn and really...I don't care about destruction porn unless it serves a purpose to the narrative. If its just destruction for the sake of destruction then yeah...its kinda boring. I also think such a battle is...very unbecoming of Goku, I doubt such random destruction (And probably massive losses of life.) Would sit well even with him.

Yeah it probably wouldn't sit well with him but if he had to it could be in the realm of possibility. And youre right, the animators could never pull it off

It's not that I don't think they couldn't pull it off, I just don't think they would give those planets backgrounds because that would be a large waste of time and money. We just animated this massive, lush, beautiful background for this new planet and you'll only see this background for maybe...45 seconds before the planet blows up. I also think Goku would stop the fight after maybe the second planet goes up. He's fight happy but I don't think he's fight happy enough to ignore all the destruction he would be causing in that fight. I think episode 12 is the highest level of destruction porn they'll do.

What? 148 episodes? That would be too much, I expect Super to end in 50 or 60 episodes no need to extend beyond that.

What are you even talking about 50 or 60 episodes with 27 being recap would be the worst thing ever. That's around half the series!? There is way too much to explore u6 and the other universes could at least take us to 100 episodes.

100 episodes is likely unless the show gets bad merchandise and ratings quick. Super is most likely going to have more episodes than GT as well. At the moment, GT is the shortest DB series with only 64 episodes.

Yeah I'd probably say 100 episodes at the minimum too. I mean they already wasted over 25 episodes on movie adaptions, if they could only make a set amount of episodes they wouldn't waste it on the movies.

If I recall correctly, Super was supposed to have about 100-200 episodes, and started with 100. Episodes beyond 100 would come based on the fan reaction I think. I hope we get over a hundred, since we wasted like, 27 episodes and half a year re-watching the movies.

'Cept it has. Twice. But I do take such sites' statements on the series with a grain of salt, because I highly doubt a person running a site in the US would have any idea what's happening in the Japanese anime industry.

Because nothing is confirmed until Kanzenshuu covers it up. We don't know how many episodes there going to be.

These types of anime don't have a set number, they go on as long as the merchandise is selling.

Don't they still plan ahead though so they know when to wrap up a story arc? Its not like a show will get canceled in the middle of an arc, they're given notice ahead of time to wrap up the story in a set number of eps.

Of course but that's short term planning.

For example, when they started they knew how many episodes they were going to do for the 1st 3 arcs which is a year worth of content.

Now that they're almost done they've probably made plans for another year or so but they don't have something like a 5 year mapped out plan with 200+ episodes.

Like movies, when Marvel and DC announce their list you'll see that each franchise only has one movie or in some rare cases 2 so that they can see how they go before green lighting more of them.

An opposite example is Sony, they announced 4 spider-man movies without knowing how well the 2nd one wold do and ended up cancelling them so even if Toie has a long terms plan it could be scraped if the merchandise stops selling.
