I just colored the dirt with the original colors of the picture by using the eye drop tool in photoshop. As for the one with the glowing slug thing, I'm trying to blend it in. I can do it pretty well, almost 92% gone, but if you look for it you might be able to see it. I'm still trying to remove it. I've spent about 8 minutes on it so far.ect5150 wrote:The stuff isn't hard to spot when it happens often enough. Hell, even the Dragonbox DVDs still have dirt on them in a few places, but nothing like what has been shown.BlueSunrise wrote:But - there's really no pleasing anyone who singles out frames of video and looks for a hair or a speck, is there?
It basically does show that they are full of it and didn't even bother to watch it once before they put it out the door on issues like these.
No offense to JAPPO, but he corrected that image in how much time and with what equipment? And is he a professional? Is he supposed to know the advanced techniques for the removal? Or did he just use a tool in photoshop?
But the point is, it doesn't matter because he just bitch-slapped FUNI and did a better job than they did at a fraction of the cost (I"m assuming he didn't spend a million on the PC he's posting from). They should have just hired him to do the scratch removal and paid him $60,000 for the year and given him free DVDs and I bet he'd go for it.
If challenge had a taste, you'd be quite delicious.

Be sure to show us the cleaned-up shot when you're done with it.JAPPO wrote:I just colored the dirt with the original colors of the picture by using the eye drop tool in photoshop. You're the king. Now you just need to letterbox itCastor Troy wrote:I've made it better now.
Watched more tonight, still felt slightly claustrophobic. Brandy was spotting stuff left and right, though seeing the series from the beginning with subtitles she is enjoying the story. We're just laughing at the actual quality of the transfer. I'll save the details for my review though.
Eh, it's not really a matter of comparing them to the DragonBoxes. It's a matter of FUNimation saying, "Hey! We did a frame by frame remaster job!" (not to mention their own employees told me it looked better than the DragonBoxes) when they obviously didn't. I'll cover all that in my review too.Conan the SSJ wrote:One more thing, about the small dirt/specks/whatnot complaints. For cryin' out loud guys, these aren't Dragonbox remasters, stop expecting for these releases to live up to them.

That's always been in the back of my head: Gen Fukunaga signing up to this forum with a name like Goku40340 or something and sees all of the FUNi bashing, jaw dropping and all..tears shed..empty bottle of jack..JAPPO wrote:I wonder if a FUNImation employee is reading all of this and crying.

You can call me Rick because I'm not actually Piccolo.
I missed out on all of the DB Movie fun, huh?
Point blank: it's gonna suck if you want it to. Personally, I'm seeing it as a comedy.

This is a joke. I have seen the episodes he has shown the screenshots from and I can tell you that they do not exist at all. This has all the flavor and originality of a Anti-Funimation fanboy webpage or message board rant from DBZOA Hell. This is a joke people...nothing more and nothing less. I like Funimation for making the "Remastered" disc sets purely because it allows the Mexican version to be on DVD. So far this is only avaliable in the US and that makes Funi's version all the more valuable. Forget the past and forget about the whole widescreen debate. Funi has made some right decisions after a history of poor ones. Remember that.

So, you're accusing him of making those screenshots up?
It seems like he may actually have done so, based on how bad it is, but I really don't know.
I mean no offense to Corey, honest. I just want to hear it from him, again, that these are real. And screens from someone else backing this up would be nice.

It would be comforting to know if what you said is true, but if it is, then where DID Corey get these screenshots from? They don't exactly look fake, I mean... Ummm...All those screen-caps are real and the Spanish-Mexican version isn't available on the first season set. When FUNi halted the Ultimate Uncut volumes at #9, they also decided no inclusion of the Spanish version on the new releases. You'll probably only ever have DBZ episodes 1-27 and movie 5 for that, sorry.Bardock the Mexican wrote:This is a joke. I dont see why he would make the screenshots look bad when there are many people on this board that have the set and can double check and take screens themselves to prove him wrong.
I dont think so and many will agree with me, but to each his own.Funi has made some right decisions after a history of poor ones.
