Probably, but I don't think it's this. How would he be connected to another universe? I expect a power up in the future though. It's almost a guarantee he'll fight in the future. If there is a threat, there is gohan. So no powerup would look weird as hell when he's been training. No guarantee on being relevant or god like powers though (although I personally hope he will). I don't think

So that's all we got from the other interview? Disappointing. The bonus interview was more exciting.

Yeah, I can see how the answer in this interview is essentially the same. I still have no idea what's in store though. Once again, I just hope that if Trunks is still the person Toriyama is hinting at, that he actually has a good reason for returning! It would be interesting to see someone from the current cast getting their own plot, but I don't know who that would be.

Not really. He said both. It's two different interview questions that result in the same answer, with slightly different wording. The way Herms translated this one, the end result is the same as well. There's no reason to put the word future in quotations unless it has a deeper meaning in context to the answer.

Maybe there'll be a Future Trunks in U6 who's connected to whatever happened to their Earth.

Unless Toriyama is talking about an actual new universe that is not 6, which i guess is a possibility, with the recent revelation that the "cube" can cross between universes.

But it can be also the future of Kyabe.
