I know you didn't do that on purpose, but it's great pun all the same considering the ending's subject matter. XDDuo wrote:We did Movie 9 and they were all utterly blown away by the ending sequence.
Goku a household name in your home?

Seconded. Was there something special about the ending that I've forgotten about? It was cool, to be sure, but...Duo wrote:Being...Bojack dying...?Jerseymilk wrote:I know you didn't do that on purpose, but it's great pun all the same considering the ending's subject matter. XD It's the part where you said your friends were "blown away by the ending". Which is exactly what Gohan did to Bojack, you silly ninnies.SSj Kaboom wrote:Seconded. Jerseymilk: "Can I tell you something?"
B-kun: "What?"
Jerseymilk: "I see Fangirls."

I used to have a reading buddy back in elementary school (he was 9, I was 13) that wanted to be called Gohan all the time.
We'd roleplay DBZ instead of doing work, but when I told him I'd be Videl, he wanted to be Goku instead >_< grr... Oh well I still have some DB stickers he gave me.
So who's guilty of drawing the 'majin' symbol on their head? And your family already knew what it meant? *raises hand...*

Eh, all three of us girls in my family were into the series at one point (one or two maybe more than the other...). Two of us (at least) got into collecting the cards and we drew them a bunch. I think I'm the only one who still continues to draw any of the characters... or even obsess over it at all. I was kinda more into it than they were. *coughdorkcough* o-o
My little sister, at least, still has Vejita as one of her favorite characters. Older sis at first liked Goku like I do, then got into Gohan courtesy of a boyfriend... don't know if she's as interested now.
As for my parents, well... I don't think my dad ever really cared about the series at all. My mom was the one who got stuff like toys and cards for us, but really it was only because she knew we liked them or we asked her for them. I think her opinion of the show overall is that it's kinda stupid. But then again, I'm talking about a person whose only real interest in modern anime was in Inuyasha... she said she liked the story better than others. e_e
I remember once, when she came into my room while my computer screensaver was on, she saw a picture of Goku appear on it and told me, "You know what he looks like? He looks like Astroboy, with the hair and the pose!" Kinda floored me.
Art, etc. links taken down for now. Will be updated at some point. I dunno.

I'm pretty sure my parents think Dragonball is like a cult and they don't like it that much. I went into a gamestop once and bought Legacy of Goku and my Dad turned to my mom and said " I'm getting tired of all this Dragonball stuff.
My sister thinks I'm a huge nerd but really I'm not at all. Wierd.

Anyhoo, about my family... Most of my family is at least DragonBall savvy enough to recognize most of the main characters and such. My Dad and sisters watched through GT's Cartoon Network run with me (Never again... never again!).

Well...both my parents think that Dragonball is a childish thing, and that its a waste of money as well (that because I do spend loads in DB...but thats life!)
They keep telling me since I was 13 that I was getting old for cartoons. I'm 24 now...
Still my mom knows perfectly well who Goku is.
My grandmother who passed away a few years ago, even used to watch some episodes with me...I'll never forget those memories!
A cousin of mine also loves dragonball, but he only started watching a few years ago.
About the "Majin symbol" on the forehead, guilty as charged!

ORA SONGOKOU DA!
My dad has actually watched DBZ with me and my brother since it started airing on CN, and actuall knows most of the story and such. He even plays the games occasionaly.
My mother, on the other hand, thinks all anime just looks like big eyed/ small headed people who(Thanks to DBZ) yell at each other.
