"Dragon Ball Super" Series Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
It'll still be hard to not feel a bit disappointed if Zarama doesn't show up before the end. More so than any other character, he's responsible for all the events in the series. Goku meeting up with Bulma? Dragon Balls. Goku coming into contact with the Red Ribbon Army? Dragon Balls. Piccolo releasing Daimao? Dragon Balls. Even Freeza and Vegeta's altercations with the main cast began because they were seeking Dragon Balls. The only major arc in the original series not somehow directly caused by the Dragon Balls is the Boo arc, and that's a finale centered around the main cast confronting a cosmic-level threat which is only possible because of all the strength and allies accumulated throughout previous arcs.
Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
I was thinking the exact same thing, like in South Park when "God" made his appearence for the first time, I can imagine something along those lines happening with the summoning of the Divine Dragon as well, and given how Toriyama always likes to take everyone by surprise and do the unexpected, there's a high probability of that happening. x') Though I would really love to see an epic summoning with a huge dragon coming out of the Super Dragon Balls, with the "sky" (space) turning white as opposed to when it gets dark after the summoning of Shenron and Porunga, I think it would be really awesome to see that!Ajay wrote:Perhaps he'll be small and funny looking like this -
After a grand summoning using giant dragon balls, I would be in absolute stitches if this were the case.Spoiler:
And it's funny how the summoning of the Divine Dragon is going to be in the 41st episode and that the Super Dragon Balls were created in the year 41 of the Dragon Ball timeline. Was it intentional or is it just a mere concidence? Well, it doesn't really matter anyway, but still, it would be cool if that was intentional.

Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
I want Zarama to appear and do something bad and because everyone is too weak against him he can do what he wants and Zarama acts as the series ongoing villain who appears at different poinys and wiill not be dealt with until the end of Dragonball Super.
Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
They flat out said Toyotaro is expanding the story and doing his own things. I don't know where you're taking that from.DBZGTKOSDH wrote:But even though he is allowed to do it, he doesn't seem to be doing it.Lord Beerus wrote:Because, as you said, Toriyama is ultimately giving Toyotaro permission to include more of Toyotaro's original ideas in the manga, and essentially provide his own unique spin on the story.
Toriyama said he could do even more because he's ok with that. He's probably ok with every expansion the anime did, too.
Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
Wait, do we know the summoning is set to occur in episode 41? That's much earlier than I'd have predicted.
Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
There are two provisional titles for episode 41, as covered by TheDevilsCorpse a few pages back. The first one has the incantation for summoning the Dragon, so it would seem like they are summoning him/her? in that episode.Cipher wrote:Wait, do we know the summoning is set to occur in episode 41? Ah, well. That's kind of a letdown. The tournament may wind up being more self-contained than I expected. Something crazy will still probably happen though.dbgtFO wrote:There are two provisional titles for episode 41, as covered by TheDevilsCorpse a few pages back. How are they gonna make a wish in 41 already? There's one ball left.
Oh God, PLEASE don't tell me it's the Nameless Planet. That'd be so incredibly lame.

My guess is that after the fourth cour wraps up we'll get a guide book for Dragon Ball Super that contains Toriyama's original notes, which will make it easier to tell what was Toyo-tarou's ideas and what were the ideas of the animated series' production staff.

Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
But that doesn't mean that his manga is less faithful to Toriyama's story. Just because he is expanding things doesn't mean he is also changing things. The fact that Toyotaro expands Toriyama's story means that the anime expands them even more, since it is more detailed than the manga. So, I don't get how that means that the anime is more faithful to Toriyama's story than the manga.Araki wrote:They flat out said Toyotaro is expanding the story and doing his own things. James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.
Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

I'm partly wondering if the seventh ball will be Sadla.
On hiatus.

Personally I think the unexpected thing would be for Zarama to actually be impressive.mawilex wrote: I was thinking the exact same thing, like in South Park when "God" made his appearence for the first time, I can imagine something along those lines happening with the summoning of the Divine Dragon as well, and given how Toriyama always likes to take everyone by surprise and do the unexpected, there's a high probability of that happening.
I'm expecting a gag dragon at this point though.

Oolong: "Hey, why is nothing happening? Aren't you supposed to grant any wish??"
Super DB's Dragon: "...I can't give you her panties, because she isn't wearing any..."
*Cue Oolong and Roshi nosebleeds*

Kinda seems rushed if they're already making the wish on the 41st episode. Was kinda hoping there would be a mini arc with them looking for the last dragon ball. This is just going by too fast I think, this arc should've been stretched out instead of the BOG and ROF arcs.
Probably not, since he is a god too after all.. plus him being apart of both universes kinda makes him above Beerus wouldn't it?buutenks wrote:I wonder if the dragon god will be intimidated by beerus. I suspect not, and a reverse may happen beerus might get intimidated.

It's the same length as BOG & RF.Makai wrote:Kinda seems rushed if they're already making the wish on the 41st episode. At least they're not rushing this :

July 9th 2018 will be remembered as the day Broly became canon.

The Dragon God Zarama is probably the strongest person in universe 6 or 7.buutenks wrote:I wonder if the dragon god will be intimidated by beerus. I suspect not, and a reverse may happen beerus might get intimidated.
