Yashima will have had 7 weeks since his last episode, Toma 9 and Ishikawa 7. Kinda a weird amount there but I can only hope this is because they now have enough leeway to put someone like Karasawa on an episode further into the future.

EDIT: Huh, no Yamamuro, I thought for sure he'd do an episode in the tournament, specifically one of the climax episodes. Wonder if he's decided to not do episodes anymore.
Even though I don't think I'd want Yamamuro working on it, I partly think the reason he might be gone atm is what if they're having him work on another DB movie.
If they are working on a new movie I really hope it doesn't result in more crazy dips in quality, I mean we've finally got to a pretty steady quality in terms of art and as far as animation goes we're starting to get some good stuff here and there again. And if they are doing a new movie I really hope Shida pops in since we've not seen him since BoG.

Toei is (presumably) still knee-deep in production on One Piece Film: Gold at the moment. I can't imagine they'd be doing anything more than the most basic pre-production on a hypothetical new Dragon Ball film right now. Like just throwing around possible plot ideas and sketching rough character designs.

Of course I could be wrong.

Yamamuro might be working on the next ending at this point. That or he will supervise the end of this cour.

The director is Takeshita Kenichi, the one who was director for #36.

I am starting to wonder if otsuka ken is working on #39 or #38. He retweeted the official db super twitter account. Plus he has been talking about deadline. So i wonder.

Edit: Maybe he just wants people to see his cut in the preview or something?

He specifically tweeted #39, so I'm gonna assume it's definitely that, especially now knowing what's going to be occurring. I get the feeling they'll want someone like him to make sure that episode is as impressive as it needs to be.

Tate knocked it out of the park for Goku vs. Hit. That was fantastic.

Visually speaking, I think Episode 38 is not just the best episode of Super, but one of the best episodes the Dragon Ball anime franchise has ever produced.

Tate fucking killed it.

I think Tate's cut with Goku/Hit might have surpassed his cut for Goku/Freeza significantly.

Oh, I think his work for this episode was leaps and bounds better than his work for the Goku and Freeza fight. I really hope he stays on regular rotation.

I think/hope he will, he's my favorite regular by a lot. This episode was the closest he's come to some of his work on One Piece, and that's a great thing for us!

Hopefully Tate gets 9 weeks on his next episode like Toma does.

Anyone catch any bits in the NEP that look like they could have been part of Ken's cuts?

Tate's work was so cool in episode 38! He's still one of my favorites. Looking forward to his next episode however far into the future that'll be.

According to the rotation tate's next episode should be #44, however that is if we dont get anyone new before him.

Wouldn't he be 45 if they follow the recent rotation? Ishikawa is 42, so 43 would be Shimanuki, and 44 would be Karasawa.

.Episode 38-
Not as solid as the last one, but good enough. Tate did great.
The scene where Goku makes Hit bleed was my favourite.
A world without Dragon Ball is just boring.

Favourite old DB Animators: Masaki Sato and Tadayoshi Yamamuro
Favourite new DB Animators: Yuya Takahashi and Chikashi Kubota
