I love Masunaga and Miyahara art, both of them stand out as the very best for me.
Maeda and classic Yamamuro are close seconds, their designs fit perfectly for the parts of the story they worked on. Toyotaro is also doing a great job for the manga.
I really like this thread Wezenheim!

Kind of random, but if I remember correctly, the episode your avatar comes from was actually supervised by Miyahara. I believe that was the episode where Vegeta concedes that Goku is better than him, and that episode also included the memorable exchange where Boo and Goku bite each other! Fun stuff all around.

Back then, Maeda Minoru more than anything.
Nowadays Yamamuro for art and Shida for animation.
Shida animation is another level. I love his unique style. Just like Maeda back then, he's the only guy I can identify his work right away.
I feel ilke Toei should clone him, before he retires. There's no other like him. I'm pissed that Champa's tournament will be over without a single cut from him.
When it comes to the manga, I choose Toyotaro. There's no contest.

A world without Dragon Ball is just boring.

I really wish Shida would help out with Super. I wonder if he's either working on that One Piece film or working on Sailor Moon Crystal. He's awesome.FortuneSSJ wrote:Back then, Maeda Minoru more than anything.

He's working on both.Wezenheim wrote: I really wish Shida would help out with Super. I wonder if he's either working on that One Piece film or working on Sailor Moon Crystal. He's awesome.
He did some tranformations for Cyrstal new season like this one and this.I'm pretty sure he's working on OP Film too. There's a Zoro's cut in the trailer that looks like him.

It's worth noting that Maeda Minoru rarely did any key animation himself. He did do the first seven movie posters, though.
Yamcha: Do you remember the spell to release him - do you know all the words?
Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up!
Master Roshi: Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he wore too many clothes!

Mhm, Maeda often had a very talented group of people working under him. Animation skills aside though, I do enjoy his actual artwork!jjgp1112 wrote:It's worth noting that Maeda Minoru rarely did any key animation himself. He did do the first seven movie posters, though.

Old school Yamamuro is my favourite. Sucks that his quality has dropped so much over the years. At least he can still make some cool fight choreography in his animations.

I like the current work of Tate Naoki but I also really like the current work of Shida Naotoshi.
I absolutely love the way Shida draws muscles. Those fingers are also incredible!

I also really enjoy the way Tate draws the characters when he gets enough time to show off that aspect of his work. These two shots of Vegeta in the latest Super episode really stuck out to me:JulieYBM wrote:I like the current work of Tate Naoki but I also really like the current work of Shida Naotoshi.

Man it would be amazing if someone could somehow convince Shida to animate an over the top Ginyu pose sequence using those designs. That would make my life complete.
