Who is your favourite Universe 6 contestant?
Re: Who is your favourite Universe 6 contestant?
Peoples choices seem mostly consistent. Hit and Magetta are the best and Frost and Botamo are the worst.

Re: Who is your favourite Universe 6 contestant?
1. Magetta: has unconventional powers and weaknesses, and the most actual personality of any of the contestants so far (though Hit might get more in the future). An easy winner as of now.
2. Hit: pretty badass. His time skip power is awesome in its concept and execution, and I like the aura he gives off with his mystique and stoic attitude. He doesn't gloat, bask in his strength, or take pleasure in inflicting pain, which is subtly but noticeably different from the standard DB villain. Character design is a bit bland, but not terrible (definitely better than Cabba and Champa, at least). Finally, he kicked the shit out of Vegeta, as is tradition.
3. Botamo: he looks like Winnie the Pooh, and I gotta respect him for that. Plus, his damage nullification ability is cool-ish and reminds me a bit of fat Janemba.
4. Frost: lazy Freeza clone, and I've long become sick of Freeza. I like his poison gimmick and design, but that's about it. Oh, wait, one more thing: I like when Goku tackles him into the bubble.
5. Cabba: Uub clone, and Uub was already a Gohan clone. Or, rather, Uub + Tarble. Also, terrible, terrible character design, and poor fight choreography to boot. To make matters worse, he is the only U6 fighter without an interesting gimmick to even somewhat offset his blandness. I dislike him a lot.

Herms wrote:The fact that the ridiculous power inflation is presented so earnestly makes me just roll my eyes and snicker. Like with Freeza, where he starts off over 10 times stronger than all his henchmen except Ginyu (because...well, just because), then we find out he can transform and get even more powerful, and then he reveals he can transform two more times, before finally coming out with the fact that he hasn't even been using anywhere near 50% of his power. Oh, and he can survive in the vacuum of space. All this stuff is just presented as the way Freeza is, without even an attempt at rationalizing it, yet the tone dictates we're supposed to take all this silly grasping at straws as thrilling danger. So I guess I don't really take the power inflation in the Boo arc seriously, but I don't take the power inflation in earlier arcs seriously either, so there's no net loss of seriousness. I think a silly story presented as serious is harder to accept than a silly story presented as silly.
Re: Who is your favourite Universe 6 contestant?
This arc hasn't had time to sit over a long period, but based on my current impressions I enjoy Magetta the most and Frost the least. Botamo lacks any presence for me to say anything meaningful about him, but Cabba seems like a nice kid, but there's also not anything I can say about him specifically due to it describing Vegeta's character more than himself. I very much enjoy Hit's demeanor, so he should be second best at this time. Maybe the next episode will boost his ratings?
Re: Who is your favourite Universe 6 contestant?
Hit was my fav already but after the way he handled Vegeta he cemented himself as a god in my eyes.
Re: Who is your favourite Universe 6 contestant?
I changed my mind a little, I prefer Hit to Cabba now and maybe even Magetta. He is pretty bad ass.
Re: Who is your favourite Universe 6 contestant?
Agree. Seems a much more grim and sombre GokuLord Beerus wrote:Hit. Everything about him is so awesome. From his design, to his abilities, to his personality, to his VA. Magetta is very close second because he's so damn charming.
Even Magetta is worthy of consideration.

Cabbe: he's adorable, I want to see more about him.
Next I guess its Magetta then Hit, then Botamo and last Frost

Re: Who is your favourite Universe 6 contestant?
I find them all uninspired and unoriginal.
Botamo: Plain and simply, he's forgettable. His ability makes no sense either (the manga did it better).
Frost: This might be the worst character ever introduced in the franchise. We just had an arc starring Frieza, so why in Kami's name did they decide to introduce another Frieza? If he was genuinely good, it'd be passable, but he turned out to be Frieza 2.0, only he's also an incredibly unlikable sleeze ball and punching bag. This is the most unoriginal, terrible character ever created in Dragon Ball, and only served to further diminish the status Frieza once had in the series. I'm sure many fans out there have made better "frost demons" in their stories.
Cabba: Another unoriginal character. We've had soooo many characters with his personality: Kid Gohan, Uub, Tarble, Future Trunks, etc. That said, each of those other characters, sans Tarble, had unique traits or qualities going for them that made them distinctive. Kid Gohan is the son of Goku, and possessed an insane hidden ability. Future Trunks was another super saiyan (this was actually special at the time), the son of Vegeta and Bulma, and a time-traveler, which was just mind-boggling. Uub is the reincarnation of the biggest threat to ever befall mankind. Cabba... is just a saiyan from another universe. Him being, say, a prince wouldn't change the fact that there is nothing going for this character. You would think a society of good saiyans would know a little about SSJG, but Cabba turned out to be just a regular saiyan with no knowledge of even SSJ. It's incredibly lame. Almost as lame as his emotion-lacking transformation.
Hit: It's (filler-saga) Pikkon with a cool ability. Both are enforcers (Pikkon is regularly tasked with beating the piss out of villains in Hell), both have a serious/stoic demeanor (i.e. same personality), both are considered the greatest warriors of their respective gods, both appear in a tournament arc, both are Goku's final opponents, both deal with SSJ+kaioken bullshit, both beat up a previously beaten enemy with ease, and both get the best of Goku in their matches. I do give Hit brownie points for his character design and time skip ability though. It's pretty cool.
Now, Magetta... <3

"Dragon Ball once became a thing of the past to me, but after that, I got angry about the live action movie, re-wrote an entire movie script, and now I'm complaining about the quality of the new TV anime. It seems Dragon Ball has grown on me so much that I can't leave it alone." - Akira Toriyama on Dragon Ball Super

Magetta is my absolute favorite. I like the idea of a robot in the Dragon Ball universe that can actually fight. He was very entertaining.

5. Botamo: Neat powers. No personality.
4. Frost: Would be higher, but he broke my heart... Now he's a generic bad guy who pretends to be good. Boring schemer personality.
3. Magetta: Neat powers and quirk but other than that no personality.
2. Cabbe: Neat backstory and design. Kind of a timid, blah personality that I wish could've been fleshed out more. Hoping to see more of him. He has the most potential.
1. Hit: Neat powers and penis head design. Generic Imma tough guy mystery man personality that wants a challenge. Still, I feel he can be fleshed out even more. Also his recent fight with Goku as well as his penis head bumped him up and put him ahead of the rest.
While I like the Universe 6 characters in terms of designs and abilities. I can't deny that I find most of their personalities a bit lacking... But honestly, it's still better than most fighters in the previous tournaments. Namu was cool but the rest were either just random a-holes without cool penis head designs or that one main antagonist guy ala Jackie Chun, Tenshinhan, and Majunior.

Re: Who is your favourite Universe 6 contestant?
I find Hit to be vastly interesting than all of the contestants. Especially since he has pretty interesting techniques, and unlike common main DB villains/antagonists, he does not whine and complain on how this lowly being can match his time-skip. Instead of throwing a hissy fit, he improves his technique more in order to be more efficient.

Hit was my favorite hands down. He reminds me of Piccolo or Pikkon in his stoic, calm personality. His design is interesting as well.

I guarentee you if the writers decided to keep Frost as a good guy, he would be number 1 or 2 on most people's lists here.Bullza wrote:Peoples choices seem mostly consistent. Hit and Magetta are the best and Frost and Botamo are the worst.

Re: Who is your favourite Universe 6 contestant?
As characters none cause they are barely characters. There isn't much info about them at least not for me to qualify them as well fleshed out characters.
As fighters my favorite would be Hitto cause of his ability and Kazuhiro Yamaji made him sound incredibly badass. Least favorite would be Kyaba another Saiyan and I'm tired of Saiyans.

Re: Who is your favourite Universe 6 contestant?
Cabba - he was a pretty good counterpart to the original warlike Saiyans. I'm hoping to see more from him.
Hit - he had a pretty awesome power on display.
Frost - A bit of a disappointment with him, since he had the chance to be a good Freeza.
Botamo - His technique was interesting (he used defensive movements so much his attack capacity reduced), but he was just an opponent to defeat.
Magetta - he was just a robot, and didn't get proper characterization.
