I just listened to the part about the comparison to the anime with how the episodes equate to the manga. DRAGONBALL AND MATH ARE COMBINED. OH SHIIIIT.

Actually, you mentioned the flashbacks to the Red Ribbon Army arc too. For myself, a typical American fan who was introduced to Z first, I thought that was actually kinda cool because I got to see footage of Dragonball, and learn more about the original show. I knew about it back then, but hadn't seen any actual episodes, so at the time it was interesting...despite the whole crap with "General" Tao, and Dr. Gero being being the Red Ribbon Army commander ;P

Actually, on that note, that could very well be one of the big things they'll go back to fix in the remastered sets once (if) they reach the Androids/Cell arc. The scene where Vegeta explains the artificial moonlight thing was actually VERY well done for the dub. The dialogue was almost exactly the same o.o

Exactly! Get it? Huh? Thats the joke!
I got the joke right away, but I still haven't found the humor. 8) I will admit, however, that the effects on the commercial were very well done.

You mentioned that we won't find out what happened to Grandpa Gohan for ike 17 or 18 more Volumes. But didn't right in Volume 2 Goku say that Gohan was stepped on by a monster that comes out oin the full moon & then we see Goku transform. So we kinda assume or Bulma makes a comment?

Great Podcast guys. Your Press Release was funny and I don't see why you guys are taking it so un-funny like. :D Having a "Special Dragonball Uncut No Filler In original 4:3 format with Original Japanese and English Dolby Digital Surround" I (I was reading the stuff from the back of Naruto)Version of Dragonball would be good because some filler is annoying and there is a lot. Like in Naruto where you get 200+ Filler.

Awesome podcast. The manga section is pretty coolio, if I do say so meself. It's cool for me, because I haven't read more than 3 chapters from various Shonen Jumps lol.

This segment will get pretty cool, especially after the first volume, because it was so full of the nudity.

And that press release was kickass. And you guys who don't like it, or didn't think that it was funny, go fuck yourself. If you can't take a joke, get off of the internet ;)

Yep, that's right. Fourth panel of chapter 23, Bulma says: "Guess we shouldn't tell him he was the monster that squashed his grandpa...".

Great podcast. Really enjoyed the manga segment, thought the press-release was hilarious and found the chapters-to-episodes comparison really interesting.

The announcement made me laugh, who is singing Chala Head Chala in the background? I would want that as an MP3 hehe.

I like the new segment but I’m curious to know what manga you’ll reference throughout the next... Forty-one months…Christ... I remember you guys went to the kanzenban to answer an email, but you also said that you’ll be using the tankobon number system. So will it be tankobon with Viz working as the subtitles:P?

I missed out on all of the DB Movie fun, huh?
Point blank: it's gonna suck if you want it to. Personally, I'm seeing it as a comedy.

Ha ha, I got the joke about the audio podcast. Well, at least with all that shiny new computer equipment you can make more elaborate things for the podcast. Speaking of which, have you thought about doing little 30-second promos for the current podcast every week to be played on other decent anime podcasts? There are other good anime podcasts out there whose listeners might enjoy the DaizEX Podcast, so doing something like that might boost your listenership some more.

As for the rest of the podcast, the manga segment was fun to listen to. It's nice that you're indoctrinating Gambitt into the world of the Dragonball manga. Ah, but next week should be quite the interesting podcast when Mike & Meri get their hands on the Vegeta/Saiyan Saga box set and take the opportunity to break it down (figuratively speaking).

I enjoyed this podcast as much as Meri stated "I enjoy being a girl". Nice random showtune reference there, Meri! :)

Have to say I loved the review of Vol. 1 of DB. Looking forward to the next one. And the afterlife tournament arc takes 5 eps including before the Tournament where we meet Pikkon.

Oh my god, you read my e-mail. Sorry about not signing the e-mail. Forgot to add "Super Sonic" from the forums.

 I love that preview.... until you mentioned widescreen. Then I shook my head in disappointment. Sound is not meant to be heard in 16:9 format Daizenshuu EX !!! Alright you know what.... I'm not taking this. I'm going to write a note about my concerns and mail it. What are we not paying you for !?

Anywho as for this weeks podcast I give two fat thumbs up. Just excellent in every way! I'm also glad to have witnessed the real surprise in this podcast which was the first installment of the manga reviews. This is almost as mind blowing as Stephen Colbert's (by Allah's will peace be upon him) "Better Know A District". I mean that's a lot of Dragonball to cover. Though this first one was great. I always learn something new when the three of you (well four, five, it's all kosher) discuss events in the series. It also helps to have a copy of the manga...... stupid Chapters not having it..... :x

Awesome as always.... Mike, Julian, Meri, Jeff, Andrew, Castor, etc, etc, keep up the good.... well I can't say work because doing a podcast on something you love sounds fun. You are enjoying yourselves too much. Work harder.... to have fun.... but not more fun then is...... nah I got nothin.

EDIT: Yay I'm beyond-the-beyond newbie!!!! If it wasen't such a common title around here then I would demand you all worship me as your God..... though if you don't mind go on ahead.....

Man, I can't wait to hear the Daizex Podcast in stunning 5.1 surround! XD

I like the manga review and commentary idea. Specially te fact that you brought on someone who hasn't read it before, it brings a sort of fresh perspective! Good thinking. I think I'll start re-reading the manga along with you guys! :D

Wait... you guys aren't REALLY re-doing all of the podcasts in 5.1 and stuff are you?

Then I would have downloaded all of those older podcasts for NOTHING!

w00t for an awesome podcast guys! I don't see why everyone's taking this so damn seriously, christ lighten up. Really loved Jeff's take of Dragon Ball volume 1, I have some happy memories reading it for the first time and wondering to myself why they weren't showing stuff like this in Z. :P Once a month? Awesome, it'd be recurring but not repetitive (though I would say I do like the idea of it being two weeks each time you do it instead of once a month *shrugs*)

Don't fall for the hype about this so-called ultimate edition of the podcast! They're just going to re-release it again in a couple years in uber widescreen ultra high definition. And if they don't, we'll petition them to do it!
