Outside of cosplay, are there outfits and hair styles from the Dragon ball franchise you could get away with wearing in real life?
What clothes from the anime and movies you think would look silly in real life (even in japan)?

Android 18's clothes from the Cell saga looks like it could fit in today's america. It's possible to wear those clothes and not get weird stares from people in your town.

I think most of the casual wear the characters have can be pulled off without standing out. Ironically, Goku has the most normal clothing in the story and illustrations! As for mimicking their standard looks, it's best to adapt it to appear more natural. A "literal translation" of any fictional clothing has a tendency to look awkward.

Yamucha's hair in the Red Ribbon army saga (I have gotten my hair to that and I though it looked cool) and probably GT Trunks outfit minus the Jacket and a bigger shirt (Big shirts and comfy shorts are like heaven to me).

I don't think you could get away with Future Trunks' awful bowl cut and his pants that are up to his nipples. If a guy walked into a modern high school dressed like that he'd get beaten up within seconds...

There's a few instances in cover art where Son Goku is wearing normal clothing that you could emulate the style of even if it's not the exact design or pattern.

There are more examples within Daizenshuu 1, but it seems that casual short sleeve button-up shirts, plain t-shirts, tank tops, jeans, khaki shorts, sneakers, and boots are what you'll find Son Goku wearing if he's not in a gi. So, honestly, it's not difficult or expensive to pull off but it's not really all that exciting either. The last image of Goku with the vest and the yellow pants are really the only thing that doesn't come off as extremely normal.
