Manga version was better fit both fights imo. Some cool moments in both though

I made a bet with Alee9977 that Vegeta won't be beaten quickly by an opponent. If I lose, I switch my avatar to Vegeta getting beat by hit. If I win, he switches it to Vegeta holding Black by his hair. This will last a month.

Re: Super's manga by Toyotarō
I liked it a lot. Vegeta's attacks on Frost are solid, and the expressions are beautifully done for both fighters. Feels very much like the original manga. I also agree with Ajay that it's better to see newly choreographed fights instead of throwing around random Final Flashes and Garlic Guns that don't have any of the same impact of the original use. It makes me wonder if SSB Kaio-ken will even make the cut in the manga? Will be interesting to see how that turns out.
Oh and I disagree with the posters who keep saying the manga needs to skip ahead. Ultimately, I think the manga will read better as a complete story rather than trying to jump ahead. They should only skip things if the anime is running a long chain of "filler" episodes.

Re: Super's manga by Toyotarō
It seems like I'm the only person who thought the anime Magetta/Vegeta fight was dumb. I did like this better, and I always enjoy Toyotaro's art.
After reading a few interviews and seeing the anime improve, I do wish Toyotaro took a few more liberties with the outline like Toriyama suggested. Not everything that the anime throws in is good, but some of it is. I believe he'd do a much better job than they do, and I'd just like a bit more time with these new characters. Yeah, Toyotaro was chosen because he is good at mimicking Toriyama's style, but I would think he was also chosen because of his original ideas and his ability to recall story aspects Toriyama doesn't. He does a great job of inserting personality into the background of panels, but I think that he and Toriyama could come up with some interesting stuff together.

Re: Super's manga by Toyotarō
It's kind of sad that I no longer care or get hyped up for the manga because I already know what's going to happen. But I'm glad because it makes the episodes more exciting. Now if they can only stop spoiling what's going to happen in the TV guides...
Re: Super's manga by Toyotarō
I think from this at least we know that final flash and galic ho in the same episode was probably toei's idea.

Wow, Frost was overkill
I liked that the fights are different.

I said that because that is way too much of a fanservice in one fight. However yea Mike is right, and there is no way to know that but it is a very fair assumption to make.

Re: Super's manga by Toyotarō
We are told that Toyotaro expands on Toriyama's Story Draft, and Toriyama personally supervises each page & corrects whatever he doesn't like. So, it sounds like Toriyama's story draft isn't very detailed, and whatever is anime-only is most likely from Toei.Kuririn Fan wrote:And we know that how?Sodhi wrote:I think from this at least we know that final flash and galic ho in the same episode was probably toei's idea.
James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.
Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

I don't how the manga is going to be able to compete with episode 39 which Toei did almost perfectly.DBZGTKOSDH wrote:We are told that Toyotaro expands on Toriyama's Story Draft, and Toriyama personally supervises each page & corrects whatever he doesn't like. Just checked out chapter 11 I think vegeta vs frost was done way better in the Manga and even though I liked vegeta vs magetta fight in both the Manga and Anima but in the Anima it was more epic with the animation and action point of view and of course it made it even better because of the epic final flash let's see how Toyotaro does the vegeta vs cabba fight

-Chapter 11-
Interesting changes, but so far the only fight where the manga destroys the anime version for me is Goku vs Botamo. The fight is still meh though.
I also lost all the hype for the manga, since the anime is ahead now and Toei is doing a good job lately.
I also like that unlike the manga, the anime is bringing the characters old attacks back.
Don't know if that's Toriyama idea or Toei doing their homework, but I love it and that's another point to the anime.

A world without Dragon Ball is just boring.

Re: Super's manga by Toyotarō
I dunno guys. I have been liking the anime for the past month. Latest chapters of the manga aren't interesting me as much. It's not even that I know what's going to happen. I like seeing different takes on things, but I am not feeling it as much.
Re: Super's manga by Toyotarō
A solid chapter, there might be some very interesting dialogue. I'm surprised that Vegeta's fight with Magetta was almost completely a gag. It looked funny, but without dialogue, much is lost.
I like having a more serious fight in the anime and a more silly one in the manga. Both were good, I'm not sure if Iean more to one or the other.

Found the anime fight of Vegeta vs Magetta to be better executed, but overall a decent chapter.
I wonder what Beerus said about 1,000 after Magetta punches SS Vegeta on the head?

I bet the gag one was Toriyama's original idea.LightBing wrote:A solid chapter, there might be some very interesting dialogue. I'm surprised that Vegeta's fight with Magetta was almost completely a gag. It looked funny, but without dialogue, much is lost.

Still no dialogue posted on 2ch and they are too busy discussing the 6-10-15 power scale. Before that, they were having a Dragon Ball vs One Piece rave
