Episode 39 result is surprising, perhaps the Japanese public was attentive to the end to the suspense of the fight

Rating supriosed me. Way less than normal japanese people who I follow were live tweeting about this episode, I thought it was because they were mostly focus on watching what was going on with the earthquake. Guess I was wrong. I am very happy and glad I was wrong, this episode deserved it

Damn, we're getting close to OP, which is near its peak as a series. I hope Toei starts to allocate more staff for production seeing the ratings, especially staff from OP Gold movie that should be done work soon.
I'm actually surprised there even is a disparity between OP and DBS ratings. You'd figure there'd be like 99% overlap of audiences there, and they're one after the other. Almost everyone I know who watches OP watches DB too.

Re: Dragon Ball Super: TV Ratings Discussion Thread
Does anyone have any idea how many people watch the show in Japan? Like 2 million? 3 million?
I bet worldwide there's probably several million people watching these episodes each week.

Re: Dragon Ball Super: TV Ratings Discussion Thread
That's because DBS is One Piece's lead-in. Like Doraemon is Shin-chan's, and Ace Attorney is Conan's. Or Maruko is Sazae's. You may notice there's a disparity there too - and in the case of Ace Attorney/Conan, a very huge one.DragonHermit wrote:I'm actually surprised there even is a disparity between OP and DBS ratings. It's very simple: most people watching the first anime stays tuned for the 2nd in the block, but not everyone tunes in earlier to watch both.

The closest comparison I can think of is Saturday morning cartoons. From what I remember they always put the popular shows on around 9:30am, 10:00am, and 10:30am. Blocks would air from 8:00am all the way to 12:00pm sometimes.
On hiatus.

7 is a good number, but this time I'm more interested on the DVR rating.
A world without Dragon Ball is just boring.

It may be displayed after one piece. I think very early this schedule
Re: Dragon Ball Super: TV Ratings Discussion Thread
It seems we'll have 7 more often from now

Re: Dragon Ball Super: TV Ratings Discussion Thread

Re: Dragon Ball Super: TV Ratings Discussion Thread
Super will probably stay around the 6.0 range or so for most of its run I guess. It'll likely never do as well as One Piece or Detective Conan but I guess it doesn't matter.

Re: Dragon Ball Super: TV Ratings Discussion Thread
Wow, I'm honestly surprised it's that low. You'd think after E39, the ratings would drastically increase. Especially being that close to OP in time slot.
I loved Conan and Doraemon as a kid, but I loved DB a lot more, and it's time we usurped them

Re: Dragon Ball Super: TV Ratings Discussion Thread
Well One Piece stayed the same as last week so it just looks like Super did worse in comparison to it than last week.
Re: Dragon Ball Super: TV Ratings Discussion Thread
Can somebody explain the DVR part to me? Why does it matter? Also, how are the TV ratings calculated?
