Really enjoyed the art. Interesting compositions, and he got really expressive with Vegeta. That's what I like to see.
I definitely agree on the cut techniques. It feels more in-line with the manga that way, where these techniques weren't re-used much (or at all, in most cases). Where-as it's very much like Toei/the video games to act like they are their signature moves that they bust out whenever they need a powerful attack.
I'm re-watching Dragon Ball GT in full on my blog. Check it out if you're interested in my thoughts on the series as I watch through it!

I dunno. I'd probably actually consider it a flaw (albeit an extremely minor one) that the original manga didn't make a little more use of some of these techniques. I mean, Toriyama went through the trouble of creating an naming them. You'd think he'd want more than one use out of them instead of just letting them fall to the wayside and basically only letting the Kamehameha stand the test of time (I guess the Taiyoken, Genki Dama and Kienzan too).

Anyway I can't entirely hate on the show for it. If we're not really going to get new techniques for the old characters like we did for the manga, then I prefer that these old ones return from time to time. Though I will agree Toei has been overdoing their use a bit. Seriously, how many times did Goku fire the Kamehameha in the Beerus and Golden Freeza material? And Vegeta at least shouldn't be using more than one named technique per match in fights this short either...

Personally I'd quite like seeing the Tri-beam and Spirit Ball be used again, but that's unlikely because I honestly doubt they'll have Tien or Yamcha fight at all in Super.

True. Movie only though. (At least I think so. I kinda skipped bits of the arc because it was so bad)

I think it also appeared in Super,it's been a long time since i watched it but there's a scene in episode [21 ?] where characters who fought Freeza's goons used their signature moves.Piccolo used Makankossapo,Roshi used Kamehameha,Ten used Kikoho,Kuririn used the same attack he used against the Saibaman and Gohan threw random Ki blasts.

It was also in the anime. Incidentally everyone except Gohan used their signature moves against Freeza's minions. Gohan just used ki blast barrage and yelled out "da, da, da!"
I was like, "really?" when I saw that scene

I admit i got a little annoyed on that scene.Perhaps they just had Gohan threw random generic ki blasts because Roshi already used the kamehameha ? They could just used Masenko though.

Xenoverse called it the Scatter Kamehameha, but I doubt that name is accurate since there's never been a yellow Kamehameha. :P

Gohan vs Boo's shell in the anime?

Going off-topic here for a bit, but honestly there are way too many "Kamehameha" techniques in the video games. Some of them don't even resemble the original attack, such as Krillin's Scatter KHH or Goku's "You fool!" Angry KHH. I think Gohan's blast against Buu's shell is called the Electric KHH, even. Everything is a Kamehameha.

Nice catch. Unfortunately both the manga and the anime abuse these callbacks. They should be used sporadically, it's almost shows a lack of trust in themselves to be imaginative.

My guess is since the attack doesn't have an actual name, they just use some descriptive word and just add Kamehameha to the end of it. Kinda a lazy name choice really as opposed to just making their own names for the moves. Though Electric and Angry Kamehameha's do kinda actually look like Kamehameha waves unlike the Scatter one.

The bottom one is too close to the original, even if it's meant as an homage. The top one is sufficiently different, however, with the inclusion of Vegeta grabbing Frost by the shoulders. If the two panels weren't paired together, the first one's similarities could easily be seen as a coincidence.
Favorite Movies: Alien, Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, The Thing, Evil Dead, The Land Before Time
Favorite Shows: Cardcaptor Sakura, Doctor Who, Wallace and Gromit, Wakfu, Yu Yu Hakusho
Favorite Manga: Fullmetal Alchemist, Hunter x Hunter, Dragon Ball

This case in particular is fine. But here's far too many. Vegeta using the same attack Mirai Trunks used against Cell. Frost repeating the same poses as Freeza. Goku and Vegeta copying their poses from the Saiyan Arc. These are the ones I can remember from the top of my head.

If this one was the first or second case, I would be saying how nice of a callback it was. Instead I'm suffering from nostalgia saturation.

Toyotaro's art work is out of this world. I really wish they'd let him do some of the main cuts in DBS.

He is not an animator so the work would be terrible.
