The nipple guy was supposed to be a joke and nothing more. The bear looking dude isn't a bad design either, it fits his abilities. What characters are a straight up recolor?

They probably mean Blue, Freeza, and maybe SSJG. Maybe also Champa and Vados. I don't want to start another one of these arguments since we got some cool new stuff, and I'd rather keep the info flowing on that, instead of a tired old argument. Also let them have their own opinion instead of dismissing it with yours.

Well If I disagree, I'm going to let him know I disagree and why. It's not about dismissing his opinion with mine.

You're not simply disagreeing. You're saying "Monaka is a joke so it's fine how he looks". That's not saying "I think the simple design Monaka has is fine. I like it for such and such." "The bear guy has cool abilities so his design isn't bad." Maybe you're not trying to dismiss their opinion, but it sure looks like it with that post.

I agree he looks mediocre, but he's not really important anyways. I don't think he's any more or less mediocre than the other 1 time Tenkaichi Budokai participants.

I like the designs! At least its not color swaps or more purple cats we could have always went that lazy direction. This is great, 12 gods of destruction, 12 lords, we are just getting started! Multiple universes and everything. I bet they will make a team out of u6 and u7 teams and send them into u6 to do something. Goku, Vegeta, Hit, Cabba, Monaka, the robot guy with Beerus and Champa supervising them would be awesome. Also if Piccolo, Gohan and the remaining cast stayed in U7, they'd have a chance to shine.

If Super is set a year after Buu's defeat then maybe Toriyama is planning on a new ending with or without Bra.

Maybe an older pan and Uub ? Maybe Goku will take Uub to train with Whis instead of doing it himself ?

I like having new characters that fit well in the DB universe. That's why I didn't like some of the GT character designs since they didn't feel like that they fit in the DB universe from Toriyama. For example. General Rildo and Bebi looks alright but he fits better with another 90's sci-fi anime than Dragon Ball.

I'm hoping that both of these new characters are the Zeno, but knowing Toriyama only one of them is and the other is the attendant. I think the maximum amount of Zeno would be these two if it isn't just one of them.

I like the design. I want to see them animated.
My guess is they want to do an intergalactic tournament and deal some year of time for training... some fillers... then we go for the event.

Really love the tall guy's design, not sure how I feel about the short one yet though. Don't think it looks too bad, but maybe it'll grow on me. I wonder what reason they have for showing up all of a sudden? Maybe it has to do with the Super Dragon balls?

I'm getting the feeling that we won't see the dragon be summoned, a wish being granted, or Zarama any time soon. None of the summaries mention anything about it, and we don't even know what the dragon/Zarama looks like, yet the design sheets for these two have been leaked already. Plus it would be too soon anyways, they don't even have the four star ball yet. That's why I'm thinking them showing up will possibly have something to do with the dragon balls.

I hope the guys from U6 stick around too. They all are unique, and have a lot potential, to be a part of the group. Would be nice to see more of them, instead of them just disappearing after this short arc. And at least so this won't be the Goku and Vegeta show(let's be honest, I doubt any of the rest of the cast will be of much help at this point, besides Buu, Gohan, and hopefully Piccolo). Adding the U6 fighters would refresh the cast, and be a change the show really needs.

Well, this has esculated quickly!

I'm both surprised and excited - surprised that we're delving further and higher into the Universe mythology, and excited for this next sojourn into foreign pastures.

I admit that I did have a niggling feeling that the tournament itself was a little bit anti-climatic, and more pre-ambling rather than defining, and I'd be very happy for that to be the case, and for it to merely be a pretext for something bigger.

it's hard to say much about the character designs based on those scans, but they seem a very typical Toriyama 'odd couple'.

Weren't most of GT's designs by him? The cheese for some of those outfits were pretty apparent haha. They were definitely products of the time.

Would they use a tournament to suggest another tournament? I doubt it, Toriyama never did two in a row and that wouldn't be ideal to expand the plot.
In his recent interview he sounded like he felt a need to do this one to the end because his last two were quickly cut short.

No. Outside of the initial designs of the main characters, the vast majority of GT was designed by Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru.

The small one is almost certainly Zen'o. His outfit has the kanji for the title worked into the design.
