Re: Do you want Cell back in DBS?
I would love an incarnation of Cell (e.g. the rejuvenated fetus Krillin and Trunks destroyed) to return... in a hypothetical new DBZ (or even GT) saga or movie, not DBS. It's a great idea, as this would be a different/new character and can possess both a somewhat distinctive personality and design to Future Perfect Cell.
Dragon Ball Super is not the sort of show I would want Cell or even Future Trunks in, though. It will inevitably make an ass out of them due to its light-heartedness and greater emphasis on gags/comedy.

"Dragon Ball once became a thing of the past to me, but after that, I got angry about the live action movie, re-wrote an entire movie script, and now I'm complaining about the quality of the new TV anime. It seems Dragon Ball has grown on me so much that I can't leave it alone." - Akira Toriyama on Dragon Ball Super
Re: Do you want Cell back in DBS?
Yes I would love Cell to return are you kidding me? He was the perfect villain.
However I think Cell would be way to much for the Z warriors to handle even current Goku and Vegeta. I mean Cell is essentially an improved combination of the Z warriors and Freeza. If we would hypothetically train for god knows how long he would be a terror. You combine the zenkei boost and Freeza potential along with the Saiyan drive to be the strongest and on top of that the strategist mind and regeneration of Piccolo.
It's best he stays dead and maybe bring Buu back instead..makes more sense to me

Gero having some unknown student who will revived Cell makes no sense at all. One, no one knew about Cell at all until he appeared out of nowhere and Cell never told the public who created him. Two, they can just as easily make their own version of Cell with updated cells from the much more powerful Z-Fighters instead of using a creature that got itself killed by a child.Gorou wrote:As they pulled out of some Freezer's subordinates, may pull out some potential students/other creations by Gero that can fulfil the task of reviving Gero or Cell
The point is that it would be a copy of the revival of Freeza, and would sound monotonous (already the return of Freeza was handled very badly). Like I said, if will be reintroduced to time travel, will be able to use the mysterious timeline 4, where no one knows what happened to the Cell games.
The reviving Buu makes no sense at all. Fat Buu is now an ally and Kid Buu is already reborn as Uub. There is nothing to revive. Super Buu got erased from existence since he only existed as a fused being between Fat and Kid Buu.

Re: Do you want Cell back in DBS?
Cell was one of the best Arcs, that ended in the best ways. No lose ends, no question marks, and no blanks. If he were to be brought back, they would ruin the perfect image that we have of him. It would be like bringing F Trunks back. Lets not dwell in the past and just pray that Tori can come up with some more badass villains.
Vegeta : Pfft, you're gonna grow up to be just like Gohan
Cabba : NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
(Turns Super Saiyin for the first time)
Cabba : TAKE THAT BACK!

Re: Do you want Cell back in DBS?
Gero having some assistant, that knows his secret projects, is not absurd at all. It is no less absurd than two subordinates of Freeza who land on Earth and resurrect their boss without anyone stop them. And reconstruct an improved version of a creature that took 24 years to form, when you can use a weaker version, but ready (with great potential ever expressed, because biologically he had 5 years when he died) is not very convenient. The long time required was the main reason why Gero has shelved the project.HeroR wrote: Gero having some unknown student who will revived Cell makes no sense at all. But like I said, it would be a copy of the already disastrous revival of F. The alternate timelines are the only plot device that doesn't disturb me.

Re: Do you want Cell back in DBS?
coming to think about it , cell will need 10 months of training (4 months to become golden and 6 months to become SSB).
SSB golden cell - he is blue golden in color.
Then he self-destructs and returns as Super saiyan blue golden vegetto and asks goku for a senzu as he used too much energy in regenerating.

Re: Do you want Cell back in DBS?
Golden, or a similar version, is possible (useful for animators because would eliminate all the stains).apex_pretador wrote:coming to think about it , cell will need 10 months of training (4 months to become golden and 6 months to become SSB).

SSB requires a pure heart, which he doesn't own.
However, the biggest power ups would be the assimilation (like Namekian Fusion) of his children, which would be unlimited, and the kaioken.
There's also Zenkai, who with Goku and Vegeta has made miracles.

Re: Do you want Cell back in DBS?
when was SSB stated to require a pure heart? It was only a requirement of the ritual of SSG. SSB can be achieved just by training.Gorou wrote:Golden, or a similar version, is possible (useful for animators because would eliminate all the stains).apex_pretador wrote:coming to think about it , cell will need 10 months of training (4 months to become golden and 6 months to become SSB).

And just think about it, if cell had cells from tenshinhan, he has potential to become strongest in the universe
- Multiform -> Fusion or namekian merging
- Multiform -> Potara -> Namekian merging
- 7 Kids -> 28 multiforms -> 14 potara merged -> 7 namekian merged -> 3 namekian merged (one merged with cell) -> 1 namekian merged, one merged with cell -> super cell

I'd say seeing Freeza return was enough. Cell doesn't need to come back.

Re: Do you want Cell back in DBS?
Cell is just not that interesting enough to bring back and who exactly would want to bring him back in the first place? Some angst sociopath gunmen who wants to destroy the world before commits suicide???
And when I say he's not that interesting I mean his character was based around that he wanted to kill everything because he was programmed to do so by a revengeful scientist who was upset at Goku for destroying an army comprised of cartoon animals and humans that was led by a midget who wanted to get a wish to become taller. I mean, if people out there think "OH SUPER BADASS VILLAINS DONT EXIST ANYMORE HOW ARE WE SUPPOSE TO TAKE DRAGONBALL SERIOUSLY?" well remember Cells initial premise is EXTREMELY silly.

Re: Do you want Cell back in DBS?
The basic premise is create a warrior/being biologically perfect, combining the cells of the strongest fighters of the Earth, and space, and it is not at all stupid. The creation itself does not follow even his programming. And for the purpose that you speak, the scientist has built other machines.BoosterZabi wrote:Cell is just not that interesting enough to bring back and who exactly would want to bring him back in the first place? Re: Do you want Cell back in DBS?
No. We've already had Freeza returning and I don't want to see them bringing back any more villains of the past. Hopefully they're able to come up with some interesting stories as well as some original characters, rather than a rehash of things we've seen before.

I also think Freeza is overall a more interesting villain than Cell, who I found to be shallower than spit. At least Buu was run to watch while he was causing chaos.

For me it is simply disastrous, there FF far more compelling and interesting.
None of DB's villains is profound.
Everyone has their different individual motivations for doing harm.
Are all built on distinct negative precepts: megalomania, arrogance, ignorance of the good.
However, individual opinions remain individuals.

Truth to be the told, I personally believe that the last decently written major antagonist we had was Piccolo Daimao. I liked fat Majin Buu aswell.

There is an interview/spoiler saying we will be seeing a character from the future who we are familiar with. Everyone assumes it will be future Trunks but it could be Cell (he is also from the future).
Actually... maybe not all of them. Here's what we do know about Cell and its(?) relation to each timeline:
1) Original Timeline- After killing Trunks, Cell takes the time machine and goes to Age 763 in the Main Timeline.
2) Unseen Timeline- Pretty much similar to the Main Timeline up until Trunks decides to deactivate No. 17 and 18 in the Original Timeline after finding blueprints. Trunks never returns to this timeline, since he was murdered in the Original Timeline, and we have no idea if this Cell (larva form) ever shows up. Potentially, this Cell could still show up 24 years later and attempt to find the Androids way after they've been defeated.
3) History of Trunks Timeline- Early history is similar to the Original Timeline. Trunks returns from the Main Timeline after Gohan defeats Cell. He then destroys Cell when it tries to take the time machine.
4) Main Timeline- Cell is killed by Trunks and Krillin. Cell is destroyed by Gohan.
I color-coded the characters for their respective timelines. Trunks and Cell are most relevant here, though. I wrote the timelines in their "chronological order" of their creation. I ignored the plot-hole that Cell mentions to Piccolo about Trunks.
Feel free to correct me if you see anything wrong.
DRAGON BALL IS THE KING OF (Fighting) ANIME!!!!!!! In my opinion, at least...
My reaction to anything about Dragon Ball post-2013 that I don't like and/or is stupid.
