Which is of course all your own opinion which you are allowed to have on a set of unwritten rules you wish to follow. You label yourself all those things if you believe your idea of canon is the sole right one, and everyone else is wrong if they don't follow your idea of canon. It's as simple as that. People have several claims and points as to why God doesn't exist, so can they go around press their belief onto everyone else because they believe their case supports it enough? I'm not telling you you can't think that, I'm telling you, you're all those things "IF" you press that anyone who thinks or likes to think GT is canon is wrong.Kuririn Fan wrote:No its not one sided, you dont seem to understand that i dont give a fuck about canon, i just thought it was obvious that GT is a spin-off, not related to the main story because the original creator wasnt involved in ts story and all this new stuff contradicts it. Can you stop using God as an example, i really dont care about that stuff. Its pretty obvovius that GT isnt canon, even if there is no official canon and that offends you for some reason.dbzfan7 wrote:Which is of course all your own opinion which you are allowed to have on a set of unwritten rules you wish to follow. You are only proving my point the more and more you continue (As well as giving some silent users something to snicker at). You're acting no different than a arrogant theist/atheist/preacher. You're still pushing your idea of canon, as some people push their idea of god, as the sole right answer. You are literally stating anyone who doesn't share your opinion of canon, is wrong. I ain't offended by GT is canon/non canon. I'm offended by the sheer arrogance and conceited practice of putting one's own belief above everyone else.Kuririn Fan wrote:Can you stop using God as an example, i really dont care about that stuff. I'm not saying that, i just thought it was obvious GT isnt canon. And i dont care about "silent users", if they have something to say to me, they should say it to my (internet) face.dbzfan7 wrote:You are literally stating anyone who doesn't share your opinion of canon, is wrong.Kuririn Fan wrote:Can you stop using God as an example, i really dont care about that stuff. Yes you are. Your entire post REAKS of elitist talk. You are not saying "In my opinion GT is not canon". You are saying "GT IS NOT CANON". You are phrasing in absolutes, and not in a meer opinion as a fan. You try to even turn it around on people by saying they're offended because they like GT, which is not the case. It's arrogant elitists who think they're precious god like minds know better and decide that their unwritten rules dictate what's the correct way to see things for the fandom, like they actually are apart of Dragon Balls production team. Either you're one of these elitist, or you're not phrasing yourself properly and should really watch how they phrase their opinions.Kuririn Fan wrote:I'm not saying that, i just thought it was obvious GT isnt canon.dbzfan7 wrote:You are literally stating anyone who doesn't share your opinion of canon, is wrong.Kuririn Fan wrote:Can you stop using God as an example, i really dont care about that stuff. People know it's a popular belief for a chunk of fans that GT isn't canon. No one cares if people want to believe that. They will care when those people start to tell others who like to think it is canon are wrong. They hate that as they're being told what they can and can't believe as fans of Dragon Ball, a series with no real defined canon. Just a ton of unwritten ideas for canon people on the internet choose to follow or not.

It is pretty clear that GT has nothing to do with main or Toriyamas story. Its nothing like God example, beause you can go either way there, while this is pretty clear, no Toriyama - no main story, just like pre-BoG movies. We can do this all day, but we shouldnt, so ill stop.dbzfan7 wrote:

It is exactly like the god example. You're choosing unwritten rules to push your own agenda of what you believe counts and does not count. Just like any other typical annoying theist/atheist pushes their belief on others would do. It's that closed mindedness that makes a fandom infamous and hated. To shut out anyone who doesn't follow your strict belief, because you want to believe a certain unwritten rule of how things work. It is this closed opinionated ideals that has people laugh at communities like this for wanking the crap out of Goku or yelling off in youtube comments another user is wrong for thinking of a stance different than theirs on symbolism, story tropes, hidden messages, etc.Kuririn Fan wrote:It is pretty clear that GT has nothing to do with main or Toriyamas story. Now you can't even be consistent with yourself. You're saying you're not shoving your opinions down peoples throat and using the god example is wrong, but now you're embracing it completely, and shoving your canon down peoples throat. You're completely missing my point by wrapping it back into GT when it's not simply about GT. It's about not placing your own opinion above everyone else as the one true answer, not being closed minded and telling everyone else they're wrong to think differently from you, and respecting your own stance as well as others. Toriyama is not my god. He's an entertainer who makes my day with some simple fun.Kuririn Fan wrote:Toriyama is our God and he had nothing to do with GT story.dbzfan7 wrote:It is exactly like the god example. It's really no different if I said "Toriyama had more clear defined involvement with the movies than the retellings, so 2/3 of Super is not canon and didn't happen. Everyone who thinks 2/3 of Super happened is wrong." Then I'd be an annoying preacher telling other people what they can and can't believe, while putting my opinion on a pedestal. People can choose the films. Super. Both. I don't really care. Hell they can choose neither if they really feel like it. Or "The Kintoun ending is canon. Toriyama changed it on the Kanzenban reprint as well as Vegeta's ending dialogue. Everyone who thinks the first ending is canon is wrong" Now if I did that, I'd be a more obnoxious unpleasant person than I already am.

The "Gods" of Dragon Ball, if you want to call them that, are all legal owners of the franchise and not just Akira Toriyama. It is all broken down to property, rights and in case of something official and public, of course the almighty money. Own the brand, own the rights. You have to deal with the fact that we are talking about fiction in which the inconsistency of a destroyed head of Cell does not destroy the very fabric of Dragon Ball's existence. Same goes for everything else. If they want they can decide to bring out a connection between Super and GT tomorrow and if a fan says "but continuity ... logic!" it all does not matter because only that they want it is enough, no matter what the - at this point undefined - state of GT is now.Kuririn Fan wrote: Toriyama is our God and he had nothing to do with GT story.

Damn, this thread is getting boring with all that canon discussion, can't we all just agree that nor Super nor GT are canon? Lol kidding
Anyway we have a proper thread for that: http://www.kanzenshuu.com/forum/viewtop ... =7&t=29480

NewType comes out the 10th so we should at least get summaries for eps 43, 44, and 45.

The co-owners of the franchise are Bird Studios/Toriyama and Shueisha though, Toei doesn't enter there as far as the franchise itself goes, only the animated works themselves.Cetra wrote:The "Gods" of Dragon Ball, if you want to call them that, are all legal owners of the franchise and not just Akira Toriyama. Now that I think about it though... I wonder if part of the point of the Super manga is to have a version of Super that isn't shared with Toei - just like how Super's existence probably will allow them to avoid crediting 20th Century Fox for Beerus, Whis and other BoGs and RoF elements in future games.

That does not matter at all. There are still multiple owners and I was even explaining it for all and everything that can be owned, not just Dragon Ball.

Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
So the 10th is when we'll learn about the new upcoming episodes, and between potentially the 15-20th we'll know how the manga handles Vegeta vs Cabba. I'm more interested in the former, as the latter kinda lost it's appeal some time ago. Though I hope the choreography is less disappointing than the last chapter was at the very least.

The manga hasn't shown it's events yet I think. Didn't we leave off right before Vegeta and Cabba interact/fight? Vegeta just got through Frost and Magetta last time.Chuquita wrote:Spoiler:

My apologies; I did mean the anime. ^^; I felt like since the anime didn't reveal any additional information about Cabba when he left that the manga probably won't either. (I would like to hope I'm wrong though; I want to know more about Planet Sadla and how it compares to Planet Vegeta--for example is the gravity strong on Planet Sadla as well? Just how much is the king like Vegeta? Does Cabba have a family? Those sorts of things.)dbzfan7 wrote:The manga hasn't shown it's events yet I think.
