No? Which is more popular? Ratchet and Clank is selling more games than DBZ, but the DBZ movies pulled more people to the cinema!VejituhTheWarriorGuy wrote:You're kidding right?

I don't see how this is even a question and I'm curious why you'd even ask it in the first place. Dragon Ball is a franchise with over 30 years of history that still does gangbusters in annual merchandise sales and licensing fees. Ratchet and Clank is only a decade old and has some stuff that comes out every once in a while I guess.

Re: DragonBall VS Ratchet and Clank (Franchises, not charact
Pretty silly question from someone who is a big fan of both. Dragon Ball without a doubt since it has a major impact in both Japan and overseas. Ratchet & Clank is a popular franchise, but not on the same level as DB. Maybe a question like Dragon Ball vs. Legend of Zelda would be a better debate topic.

Re: DragonBall VS Ratchet and Clank (Franchises, not charact
Because I`m a huge fan of both games! Ratchet and Clak is a 14-year old franchise with 15 games, a movie, a comic and a manga! The PS4 gaming is selling REALLY well, and I was wondering how the two franchises stack up!VegettoEX wrote:I don't see how this is even a question and I'm curious why you'd even ask it in the first place. And honestly, I`m a bigger DBZ fan than Ratchet fan, but I feel like there is more Ratchet and Clank stuff in the media right now, and has been for the past few years, than there is DBZ stuff!

There's a thing called research dude. A simple look at the sales for each franchise has your answer right there.songohan619 wrote:Because I`m a huge fan of both games! And from what I can gather, it looks like Ratchet is a more popular franchise, but I may be wrong, so that`s why I put the question out there! I was hoping to have a fun discussion with you guys!VejituhTheWarriorGuy wrote:There's a thing called research dude. Just take a look at any Facebook page, group, sales chart and just about anything else for Dragon Ball and compare it to one for Ratchet and Clank.songohan619 wrote:And from what I can gather, it looks like Ratchet is a more popular franchise, but I may be wrong, so that`s why I put the question out there! I am doing that, but all the number I find say that Ratchet is selling more! The newest game has already sold more than Xenoverse, for example:VejituhTheWarriorGuy wrote:Just take a look at any Facebook page, group, sales chart and just about anything else for Dragon Ball and compare it to one for Ratchet and Clank.songohan619 wrote:And from what I can gather, it looks like Ratchet is a more popular franchise, but I may be wrong, so that`s why I put the question out there! Re: DragonBall VS Ratchet and Clank (Franchises, not charact
But that's just a single game. It's also the ONLY game, whereas Dragon Ball generally has multiple games on the market at the same time, in addition to two massive arcade games in Japan (Zenkai Battle and Dragon Ball Heroes in addition to all that miscellaneous Carddass stuff and Discross and the list just goes on and on and on). R&C plays the massive-single-hit game, whereas DB plays the long-tail game spread across various media. It's not really directly comparable that way.

Well, Ratchet and Clank has several million-selling games as wellVegettoEX wrote:But that's just a single game. Please do not misinterpret one other member's dismissive comments and attitude as anything other than their own personal outlook. That's their own problem, not yours.
For me, I just think it's pretty obvious, but I guess if you haven't ever sat and thought about these kinds of properties from a worldwide perspective with an in-depth look at just exactly what kinds of merchandise they generate, perhaps yeah, you might be confused. It's OK to ask questions. Be curious. Wonder. That's all great and fine.
If all you're doing is directly comparing sales of a single marquee video game, that's just not enough. Hopefully I've given you enough other examples to give a better outlook on things.

Thanks, Mike! I can`t see how it`s obvious which one is more popular right now, so that`s why I posted the question here! Yeah, Comparing games sales is not fair, but I don`t know what numbers would be best to compare, which is why I posed the question here on the forumVegettoEX wrote:Please do not misinterpret one other member's dismissive comments and attitude as anything other than their own personal outlook. The numbers are all over the place with the different types of media. It's obvious that DB is way bigger than R&C.
