Red Ribbon titles/ranks

Ever since I was a kid I would get tripped up about this. The titles of the Red Ribbon guys. It seems different in every dub, sub, manga, guidebook, fanlation, etc. I'd like to know some other opinions on what you guys like the best. Also, maybe what they directly translate to in Japanese? Like, for instance, isn't General White called Shogan White? Anyway, here's what I have:

+ Colonels Silver & Violet
+ Captain Yellow
+ Sergeant Metallic
+ Sgt. Major Purple
+ Generals White & Blue
+ Adjutant Black
+ Commander Red

I've also heard Lieuteant for Blue, Major for Metallitron, and Assistant for Black.

Colonel and captain are same, i think, one is just for army and other for navy, so colonel is more correct.
Love the Red Ribbon Arc, its the most underrated one for sure...

In some armies, including most English-speaking ones, it is an officer who assists a more senior officer, while in other armies, especially Francophone ones, it is an NCO (non-commissioned officer), normally corresponding roughly to a staff sergeant or warrant officer.
An adjutant general is commander of an army's administrative services.
This is from wikipedia, lol, but you get the idea, he is an assistant.

You're wrong. I don't know how else to say this. A Navy captain has more relative authority than an army captain, but they share the same name.

I clearly dont know much about this sutff, other than what you can find on the internet and in entertainment.

I'm not at home right now and can't check shit properly, but Murasaki and Metallic don't even have the same rank, unlike what that Paint thing claims.

No, a random picture from the Internet made in a hurry by some random unknown does not "do the job".


What's in the OP looks correct, but I don't want to sign off on it just like that. Someone else can probably offer a proper rundown of their ranks.

lmao yeah I noticed the "sargeant" error. Still it's cool to see the hierarchy laid out neatly.

Anyone have any alternate names yet or is that pretty much the consensus? Sergeant Metallic the way to go? Sgt Major Purple or Master Sgt Murasaki? No Lieutenants in this army?

Yeah, youre right, Murasaki is Master Sgt, that what Kanzentai called him.

There is nothing wrong with this picture.

Metallic is a 軍曹/gunsou, "sergeant", while Murasaki is a 曹長/gunchou, "master sergeant". The point is that Murasaki, being in charge of the floor above Metallic, correspondingly has a higher rank.

Also, I presume the spelling error Adamant was referring to is that it misspells "Sergeant" as "Sargeant".
